That don't mean it's legit. Neither of these look like they took longer then a month to make, man, so... yeah. Having a sequel don't mean too much.

The superb level design.

The incredible graphics.

The amazing gameplay.

How could you not like this game?

I hope its a sincere effort. If it was created as a "joke" it would lose a lot of its charm and stupidly amusing innocence.
