yeah, i think that's what the people from this company will be doing too. shame because the coders would have liked some actual information from the lectures given at the development conference but it is largely used as a sort of poor man's e3 where people swan about failing to secure new business for their failing indie

what

no i'm not bitter whatever gave you that idea

Sadly I can't make it this year but I was wondering if one of you could tell me how much the average admission to GDC is? More than likely I will be there next year Smiley

GDC costs thousands of dollars if you're gonna make it be worth the trip.

i couldnt have gone if i hadnt scored a free pass with the nomination.
no way in hell i could afford all that.

my plan is to do something interetsing enough every year and get invited for free forever.

great plan phil!
good job!

Yeah, I think I would only be able to justify it if I turned it into a vacation for a few weeks and enticed my girlfriend to go lol...

I won't be going either but I'm planning for next year. Also trying to have a game ready for the IGF competition as well... We'll see how everything goes. I hope you will all enjoy it... Bring me back a souvenir 'kay? Wink :D

Anyone will be attending some lectures? Which are you mostly looking forward to?

Is it going to be taped again? I watched the IGF/GDC from last year when Aquaria won the McNally prize. I think I saw the whole thing on Gamespot or something.

Bah, just find a potato sac, stick branches in it to simulate arms, slap on some glasses on top, strike out "Potatoes" and write your name instead. That'll fool them all and you'll be free... Free... FREE!

Of course, it may have a twisted effect if, 3 days later, you find out that your potato self has declared world peace and won a nobel prize in chemistry. Those silly potato sacs always have an ace up their branch sleeves...

But if you decide not to use the potato dummy, what lecture are you mostly looking forward to?

Sames!  I'm gonna be a booth babe for Pillowfort most of the week, but I get to go to the IGF Awards, which is pretty sexually arousing.  TIGS PAAAARTY

I'll also be there from 16th to 23rd. I'll probably have to spend most of my time at the IGF booths, so I don't get to see that many lectures. Which sucks. Unless I go with the elaborate potato sac plan....

When people start realizing how brilliant the potato sac scheme is, there won't be anything else but games and potato sacs at the IGF booths.
