I was thinking of about all of the cheesy sci-fi flicks I have seen through the years and was trying to figure out what the cheesiest sci-fi movie I have ever seen was.
Immediately Flash Gordon springs to mind, I don't know how much cheesier you can get then Queen doing the soundtrack...but I am sure you can,
Flash probably isn't my cheesiest by far but it's all I can think of right now. I must have purged my memory of the really cheeseball stuff...I'm sure they'll come back to me.
So, in the meantime what is the most cheestastic, cheeserifically, cheesy sci-fi movie you've ever seen?

Barbarella. I don't know what's cheesier than space babes making space love with space barbarians.

OH-RICKY.
Can't beat that fight where Ricky punches through that fat guy in the shower, and pulls out his entire forearm, and the intestines are all over the place...wild.
Wait...is that the WHOLE movie? I've never seen it all the way through. I'm so watching this. Thanks Derek!
I think I need to make a choose-your-own-adventure homage to this movie.

Frankenfish is a good'n. So is Mosquito (Not Mansquito. Mansquito had one or two good lines). Actually, most sci-fi original films are super cheesy.
Although.... Actually... most cheesy ever... Probably Alien Apocalypse. Bruce Campbell is actually good in it, and the contrast with all the PURE CHEESE really makes the stupidity stand out. Everyone has obviously fake beards (One guy has a toupee that is actually just a beard put on his head or something), plot is absurd, enemies are stupid, etcetera.

Barbarella is pretty out there cheesy, and inspired Roman Coppola's kinda interesting . But there are a few that spring immediately to mind... as totally nutty. 1.) , with Sean Connery. "The gun is good. The penis is evil." 2.) Logan's Run. Run, runner. 3.) A Boy And His Dog. Post apocalyptic. Telepathic dog. Underground infertile neocon society harvesting Don Johnson's seed.

Oh god, yeah. That was definitely a stinker. It had it's cheesy moments but I think mostly it was just plain bad. How about Johnny Mnemonic? Or Independence Day?

If we're talking about pure cheesiness, I'll say Predator - it was an awesome movie but it was so cheesy I could almost taste it. You always remember the taste of a good cheese.

Mars Attacks is awesome. More films need to use retro-style aliens and flying saucers!

ROBOSAURUSIt's perfectly terrible. It's unwatchable! It's awesome! It's about a cop in the future who got his son killed. And then this black guy appears and tells him he knows Alexander the Great and that some people have the power to make things bigger. And then the cop takes his kid's toy robosaurus, makes him a big, bad, plastic mofo and kills the bad guys in revenge! And then the viewer's brain dies...

Easy! There are lots of REALLY cheesy sci-fi movies, but most of them were in a time when you didn't really have much of a choice but to be cheesy. This movie was cheesy in a day when you had something to compare it to. I still can't tell if this was done on purpose... but it was probably the cheesiest sci-fi movie I've ever seen. Well, second... the first will always be... For those of you who haven't had the PLEASURE of watching this, you can check it out here... http://joox.net/cat/2/id/1879920

A sound of thunder. Take a joke short story that has nothing to do outside of a book and make it even stupider by downgrading it to hollywood standards.

This movie was cheesy in a day when you had something to compare it to. I still can't tell if this was done on purpose... but it was probably the cheesiest sci-fi movie I've ever seen. I always thought it was fairly obvious that Starship Troopers was deliberately as ridiculous as it is. It's what makes it such a great film. furthermore: this...
