Hi everybody.
Here is a little freeware asteroids game that I finished in Mar '09 but didn't market at all.  The core game itself, took a couple of months to write and I built an object editor and wrote a collision library in that time.  The game menu code and other finishing touches such as online high score took another 3 months!!  Anyway, here it is... Enjoy!

Some fast arcade fun...

(Windows and Intel Mac)
(mouse recommended)

tips...
-use the mouse not the keyboard.
-collection of pickups is very important.
-shooting the red or green pickups reduce their respective abilities.
-accuracy and flight skill is key
-new rocks appear near the edges, so be in the middle at the start of a new level.
-kill the gravity wells as soon as possible.

Small but very nice and polished game!
And the leaderboard feature is a really cool addition.

btw. what engine are you using that lets you switch between OpenGL, DirectX 7 and DirectX 9 at runtime?

thanks.... It's written in BlitzMax and the default 2d library that comes with it keep the assets in a format that is used for any of the gfx drivers.  it's one function call to shutdown the current driver and one function call to initialize the new one.  it's a great language.
