It had various articles on lighting in games with ascii graphics. I found it through a linkchain starting with a blog on roguelikes.

Thanks, but  the website I'm talking about mentions ascii a lot. In fact, it's a little surprising to me that it doesn't really use the term roguelike. Also the website is focused more on lighting than just fov, although I can see where the two are similar.

What kind of lighting do you mean, exactly? Tile based, since it's ASCII?
