Hi there!

My name is Magnus. I'm a fun, social and outgoing guy, but when I retreat to my dark tower/dungeon/mancave, I make retro gaming music!

My work is sometimes compared to Mega Man (quite fittingly; I'll be doing the music to Mega Man 2.5D project), but I have my own style.

I'm on the lookout for commercial games to produce music for. I have already contributed music for several indie games, here are some of the more well-known:

VVVVVV (by Terry Cavanagh): All music
http://thelettervsixtim.es/

Space Phallus (by Charlie's games): The first level's music
http://www.charliesgames.com/wordpress/?page_id=65

Garden Gnome Carnage (by Daniel Remar): All music
http://www.remar.se/daniel/ggc.php

#ModArchive Story 2 (by Nicklas "Nifflas" Nygren): The secret level's music, called Krakbound on my page.
http://niffpage.greywool.com/files/Games/OS_104_FULL.zip (a 35 mb download awaits if you click that link!)

You can check out my music at http://souleye.madtracker.net
Here you can get many free downloads and some previews, showcasing the range of my capabilities.

Here's an example song from Space Phallus for the lazy surfer: http://souleye.madtracker.net/souleye%20-%20retrotune.mp3
And here's the demo reel from VVVVVV:
http://souleye.madtracker.net/souleye%20-%20pppppp%20preview.mp3

For non-exclusive licenses to tracks, prices are typically around $100 and including a royalty deal, depending on the situation and chosen tracks. If this is what you're looking for, then please browse the tunes I've already made.

If you're looking for exclusivity, drop me an email so that I can tailormake your song.

Have a look at my site, find the music that sounds attractive for your game, or send me an email with what you have in mind, and we'll work something out! Smiley

Just wanted to chime in here: I can't recommend Souleye strongly enough - when he got involved in VVVVVV he took a real interest in the game and really invested himself creatively in it. His soundtrack for VVVVVV is phenomenal.

In here to echo Terry's sentiments! Souleye is a mad, mad mofo and the music he's put together for Fight! Mechanical Shooting Device is just out of this world. If you value what you're working on at all, you'll look to this guy for some tunes.

Plus, he's ruggedly handsome and looks like Vin Diesel. If we don't keep him busy with music, he's bound to snap and go off breaking people's necks or something.

Hm, I don't need music right now, but I might need a babysitter! Wink

Just felt I had to upload my avatar after that. (I'm using dual bottles. I cross my arms when firing them, and angling them a bit, 50 cent style.)

Hello SoulEye,

I really appreciated your work on VVVVVV, and I just saw your call in Terry's twitter so I come here to call for you too Smiley
Guillaume and I, from Swing Swing Submarine, are looking for an "oldschool musician" to work on our next flash experiment. It's a really short but original game that will be released at the end of February (or the beginning of March depending on our and your schedule), also it's a one button game based on rhythm and music construction so music is a very very important part of the game.

If you want to know more, I can explain you the project better via mail.
Or we can do it on TIGForums, it's ok for me too Smiley

Change the original post to "I made VVVVVV's music"

That's all you ever need to say. Kiss

I was in need of some catchy old-school music for my game, and I found SoulEye thanks to this thread here. We worked out an easy deal within my budget and in a couple days' time, I had some cool tunes!

Thanks, SoulEye!

It goes without saying that this man's music is awesome, but he's a pretty cool dude on top of that. Paypal and my internet connection had a vendetta against me when I donated for the V^6 soundtrack, but he was kind enough to help me throughout the ordeal -- and we cracked a couple jokes all the while. I wanna be SoulEye when I grow up.
