Hello TIGSource!
You may remember me from the
100-in-1 Klik & Play Pirate Kart that some friends and I threw together for the B-Games competition a couple of years ago.
Well, good news!
We're doing another one! And you can help!
The rules are simple: During the weekend of
February 27-28, make as many games as you possibly can. Don't worry about quality, or polish, or anything else that keeps you from just slapping your random raw ideas into a game. Think of it as a game-making party, rather than a competition. Spend a maximum of 2 hours per game. The use of
Klik & Play is encouraged, because it's so easy to produce terrible games quickly with it, but games made with other tools are happily accepted. With your help, we will make 371 games in 48 hours!
Why 371? Well, with TIGSource stubbornly refusing to do another B-Games competition, I was having a hard time finding an excuse to make a shitload of awful games in a single weekend. Then I discovered that the Global Game Jam, which also takes place over a 48-hour period, produced a measly 370 games last year, with over 1600 participants. For the last Pirate Kart, I rounded up 17 people in two days and we made 105! In a fit of hubris, I decided it would be easy to drum up enough people to beat the Global Game Jam. It doesn't seem like that much more impossible of a goal than 100!
Then I did a little math. My friends, we need everyone we can muster if we want to hit 371 games. Even if you can only find a couple of hours that weekend to toss together a single game, that's better than nothing!

FEBRUARY 27-28. Be there!
