This is another one of those games that's been sitting in my head for a while. It's a simple premise - use one button to control gravity in a hilly environment, and go as fast as you can. Inspirational sources include Excite Truck and Sonic the Hedgehog, both of which have a joyful "use your surroundings to go fast" aspect to them. I'm very satisfied with how well the game worked out, overall - it's easily my favorite so far from this project. A brief rundown of the game modes: Distance: Scoring is based entirely on how far you get before running out of time. Hit checkpoints to extend time. Bonus: Earn points by making jumps, nailing landings, and hitting checkpoints. Time Attack: A combination of Distance and Bonus scoring, with a limited timer and no checkpoints. Free Play: Sparksurf the waves in peace, with no time limit, scoring, checkpoints, or HUD to distract you. Go play Wavespark at NMcCoy.net!

I started playing, thinking "this can't be deep, I'll probably get tired of this really fast." But then, I started understanding how to land the ball properly and get speed boosts by landing in downwards slopes - and I was really hooked. It's a very interesting racing mechanic, congrats.

Nice job. This is a really fun mechanic to play with.
Only problem was the music was really glitchy (like it was playing from a really small buffer or something)

Huh. Tweaked the buffer size, let me know if it's still a problem.

I need to install processing to play it? HD = 0mb left Huh? It's a Java applet - if you've got Java it should run just fine. Processing is basically a preprocessor and set of libraries to make coding audiovisual stuff easier - it's all Java under the hood.

Very fun! I love the aesthetic, and the game feels great to play. I don't have a good sense for what is a good high score, so that aspect isn't drawing me in, but it's fun enough to just fly around in that it doesn't matter much to me It's kinda weird that free play says 'game over' and scores you when you quit.

I've thought the same thing! Regrettably, I haven't the time or resources to port it to the iPhone right now, but rest assured such a notion is on my mind.

But you could make a million dollars on the iphone with this. I guarantee it.

Basically all i have is a blank square with processing logo in the corner and that's all

Brilliant. It distills that which I love about Excite Bike to its essence, and makes it better.

Like the game a bunch but it has bizarre graphical glitches when playing in both Chrome and Firefox. I'll take a screenshot for you: That weird box appears even in the main menu and parts of the main menu text flicker in and out in the top left too. The middle part even updates as you play along. I like the sound effects of whoooooshing and the little sparks are a nice touch. Very fun!

It's fun, but my lack of aim meant I only ever got 3 "Sweet!"s in a row. Also, gets boring after a minute or two, as there's nothing else thrown in like enemies, but what can ya do with a week
