Can't go wrong with Korma.  No, but seriously, I have never been an advocate of the karma system of keeping track of people; it emphasizes seniority, as before, but it also leads to people trying to build their karma illegitimately. Frankly any kind of level system is going to lead to issues, and it is better to go without completely. We have mods and admins, what else do you need? The manbaby can stay, I think, mostly because it does no harm. |

Well, this is funny... it turns out you can't hide the post count without fiddling with the php. I'll look into it. In the meantime, have fun raising people's Moxy levels. I just toasted Kyle because he did such a good job putting the Comicompo together. Okay, no more post counts. But let's try out the karma system for fun. It's still a leveling system, but it's quality-based rather than quantity-based (at least in theory).
EDIT: By the way, you do need a post-count of at least 10 to change someone's Moxy.

i wonder if it's possible to display the post count in a person's profile but not in the sidebar. that way if someone is really curious if someone is a spammer or not (like supershigi mentioned) a click on their name would let you know what it is. although the 'level' thing does the same more or less.

I like postcounts  It lets me see just how much time I waste here. Also, I use it as a way to promise myself to post something at a certain number (like I promised I'd post the game I was making when I hit 3000. I didn't, but it motivated me to spend less time here and more time working on the game, for a little while at least.) Maybe when I hit 3500... |

Why not allow each person the option of whether he wants to see post count or not? It's the same way for avatars and signatures. |
