In an attempt to outwit the telepaths you grab the vase to bludgeon yourself in the head.  It accomplishes your task.  The vase crashes soundly against your temple and renders you unconscious enough that the telepaths can no longer find you.  Unfortunately it also shatters, not only leaving your head bloodied, but the explosion of clay unleashes a pair of deadly spiders.

The spiders are drawn to the fragile odor of fresh blood and bite into the side of your head, injecting deadly poison into your sleeping body.

You never wake up.
