Well, today i have completed my first run in the library dungeon and unlocked the Orc race. but i get a bit disappointed because the sprite of this class is the same for the "human fighter". So, i decided to remake the orc race, and if you guys like, let me know! =D

PS: the sprite bellow is based on Derek Tileset, so dont blame me, please ^^"

This is the Orc hero fighter, recolored to something i think the orcs are (green skin, gray armor, and woodeen shield). If you guys like, i want know to make some news!

PPS: recolored using the MSPaint, i will change this... Shrug

Here's a ZX Spectrummy style set for anyone wanting a nostalgia trip.
- thank gawd for tooltips as without them the glyphs would be a tad cryptic ...

Alright, the script now works flawlessly. As explained before, I disliked that the Desktop Dungeons window is so small, but just maximizing it somehwat messes up the scaling. So, this little script automatically runs Desktop Dungeons and then doubles the window size, so it runs with a "clean" doubled resolution.
Just download this, put it in the Desktop Dungeons folder and run it:
http://www.mediafire.com/?lzzmyztnmqm
It's an exe-file, but it's just the compiled script. It doesn't change anything about the game.

If you have AutoHotkey installed and want to alter it in any way, here's the original script file: http://www.mediafire.com/?jiz22onygt2

Cheers to everyone for the fantastic tileset work. I'm especially taken with Derek's and the ZX Spectrum one. Now I just need to pry myself away from DD long enough to get back to work on my own stuff. Bah WTF

Here's one I've been working on on-and-off for a while. It's a slow burn, but I think it's starting to shape up.

The glyphs are sexy.
The characters look a bit plain.

Comment: Looks really good!

Feedback: Meat man and goblin look a little bit flat to me.

new version is out! features derek's tileset as the default one.

# Streamlined interface totally still lets you do all that math if you want to. You’ll wonder how you ever played it before.
# 100% gold custom tileset by indie king-maker and all around super nice guy, Derek Yu!
# All your old character files will work just fine, but it’s more fun to start from scratch again. Trust us.
# Tweaks: F2 doubles the window, F4 fullscreens, ESC no longer insta-closes and there’s even arrow-key navigation if you’re that way inclined.
# Fresh high score lists on which to min-max freely (We may even have balanced the Vampire)
# Even more content for the super-hardcore endgame players. Seriously, we can’t finish this thing…

I had the best first game in the new version of DD... I honestly thought I had no chance in hell of winning.  3 hits to kill the boss and I was down to my last bit of health.  Ended up finding an altar and getting a handful of extra spaces that let me heal up enough to take him out (thankfully, super meat men regenerate pretty slowly).

How does this game do that?!  How does it always let you win by the smallest possible margin?!!

Haha same here. Lost my first few games on normal/fighter. Then my recent game I managed to beat just by the skin of my ass. If it wasn't for the "reveal spaces" magic thing, I wouldn't have had the little hp/mana I needed to survive. I think the last time I used it there were only 3 black squares left so it was super close. Exhilarating!
