So, has anyone checked out the new Mii Plaza games yet? The shmup and the horror maze ones look tight, but I wanna know if it's worth buying the full bundle.

I looked at the new games on Mii Plaza, but I'm a little unconvinced. While the Monster Mansion game sounds neat, my problem is that I rarely get any streetpass hits in my town. I like buying puzzle swap pieces with coins, but I accept that I only ever get pink pieces when I go out of town and intentionally visit high population areas, which is relatively rare.

I probably will just skip them. I just have to accept they're meant for convention hoppers, city folk and people who are still in school / college.

Also the Rabbit's sales pitch was incredibly awkward, got pushy when I said "I don't have enough money" and then gave me the most transparently forced look of disappointment when I declined to buy. He couldn't at least give me a two minute playable demo? Three screenshots describing the setting isn't going to win me over.

you can make 380k in an hour's worth of islanding at night, so it's not a huuuuuuge deal if you lose it.

i'm seriously eyeing the streetpass games. find mii 2 consumed my roommate and i this year, and there's going to be even more people with 3dses in our fraternity house this year.

The best thing on the 3DS is the ability to take 3D pictures of cats.

Harvest Moon is is "gamier" than Animal Crossing, in that there's actual well-defined systems in place and there's usually some sort of overarching goal and story. Animal Crossing is much more relaxed and will let you putz around. Sure, you can keep paying your mortgage and get a huge house but you don't *have* to. (Also worth noting is that it's so, so, so much easier in this entry to make enough money to pay off everything. To the point that it's almost entirely a non-issue.) Both series are similar in that they're non-violent simulations (dunno if that's the right word) of pastoral(ish) life. Usually if you like one, you'll like the other. Just don't expect the rigidity of Harvest Moon.
Play Harvest Moon for the systems and the waifus; play Animal Crossing for the content and also the waifus.

To an extent, yeah. You can develop stronger relations with animals of the opposite sex than of the same sex. It's all "wink wink, nudge nudge" like much of the rest of the game, but it happens. Beyond that, have you seen the obsessions over Isabelle and Sable? (I'm a Sable man, myself.) So, yeah. Waifus.
