Hey so, I'm interested in going, but, uh, I'm not sure if I should.
Mostly because I've seen the things that typically go on at TIGJam, and as a 17 year old, I cannot legally participate in your strange 40 oz/OJ shenanigans.
But it's within doable driving distance.
If I just show up for a day to meet my indie heroes, would I still need to pay the full $50 cover charge? I'm totally okay with doing so; just wondering if I get an exception.

so hello!
Hi! I'm a grad student. but wait: how many people here are berkeley folk?!?
I think there are a few in the general area ... I'm not sure how many are going to tigjam though.

cool, I live directly across the street from the north side of the school. we should meet up and chat sometime!
and I'm uncertain whether I will be commuting each day or crashing with a couple friends down in SJ. if I am commuting though, I'm definitely up for a jam-train!

I, too, am curious as to how many spaces are available though.
They said on tigradio (just listening now ...) that they'll probably limit it to 50 people. Right now there are 34 signed up. cool, I live directly across the street from the north side of the school. we should meet up and chat sometime!
Sure ... I probably walk by your place almost every day then ...

Hey, guys!
Just wanted to say, don't be shy about coming, even if you've only lurked TIGSource before. Fact is, we were all strangers at one point!
Also, you can work on ANYTHING while you're here - it doesn't even need to be game-related, just creative.

I'll break out of lurker-mode for this! Of course it helps that it's only 4 miles from my apartment. I can't wait to see all you awesome folk that have given me untold hours of entertainment (and periodic confusion)!

Okay awesome, if this is in Mountain View I may have no excuse * not * to go.
Stupid questions:
- What exactly is the format of these things? I've never been to one.
- I'm gonna be busy a few evenings that weekend-- if I couple a few of the evenings am I ruining the experience for myself?

Yes. There is a decent likelihood if you get on the wait list, we'll release more tickets.

I'm waitlisted, but it sounds like a longshot. Any idea how many folks are on said waitlist?

Hmm no one answered the questions ... - The format is mostly we just sit around and work on whatever we want to work on. And hang out and talk and whatever. At the end you can give a short talk or show off what you've been working on if you want but other than that there's nothing scheduled really. - Nope, I don't think you'd ruin anything

I suppose I might as well go since I live in SF and now that I'm working the $50 ticket won't be a big deal... Looks like a lot of familiar faces will be there, along with a few I've worked with. The only problem is I don't really have any projects planned At the very least, I'd just like to go for the social aspect and get inspired to work on stuff. EDIT: OH NO... Tickets are sold out??

Yeah, please fix the messaging on the tigjam page. I tried to buy my ticket fairly early and no where did it say that it was sold out - it just said they'll contact me when they become available. This makes things extremely unclear, and quite honestly I'm very disappointed that I'll probably not be able to go now because of this.
