Hello.

I'd have released the first two episodes of my diploma project Understanding Games at the gaming website Kongregate. Understanding Games is a flash game trying to raise awareness for the basic concepts of computer and video games. I'd would be great to get some comments and feedback from you on it!

Thanks for your comments so far!

I just uploaded Episode 3 which is about learning in computer games. You can find it here:

If you like the games, it would be really great if you'd vote for it on the Kongregate site.

This is very interesting! I love the concept behind it, and I'm sure a lot of people could learn from something like this. Keep it up! And be sure to share with us if you do more of these!

It's on TIGSource now, too!  I'm ashamed that Kotaku and Boing Boing got it up before me, though. Embarrassed

And I'm ashamed I didn't post it before you!

The series is really charming.  I like it.  Smiley

Though, there's a bug in the Pong code where the ball will skim across the bottom of the screen cuing the bounce sound effect over and over, which is kinda silly.  But yeah, excellent presentation all around.  Grin

Thanks for putting it up on TIGSource! I am a big fan of your site, since you guys cover all the indie-games I never heard off but always wanted to play. Wink

This is pretty awesome. I couldn't get it to run earlier for some reason, but the positive blog posts convinced me to go back and check it out again.

Very clever, just like "Understanding Comics," but I love games way more than comics.

Someone should tell Kongregate's webmaster that people using OS X Opera might want to see the site, and loading a blank page isn't going to endear them.

(Edit: Bub & Bob! AWESOME)

ravuya, we try to test the site on Opera as much as we can. Can you please email us at [email protected] with an explanation and a screenshot regarding the problem? We definitely don't want technical issues getting in the way of people viewing Pixelate's great series.

I'll send you along a screenshot of the resulting page and the source I get. It's kind of weird.

Hey-

Just wanted to let you know that I uploaded the last episode of Understanding Games on Kongregate. The episode is about identification in games and the relationship between players and the game characters.
