Basically, each writer writes a page (1 to 12 panels), later writers are able to see the whole story when they get their turn. Same with the artists. I'm aiming for a story that you can actually follow, not a collection of random "lol dance off" pages. (Yes I'm still bitter about those things from comicompo 2)

Sounds like a good idea.

I find it hilarious reading these comics, it's like a horrible game of pass the message (in a good way).

If there are going to be experiments on the formula in future versions, maybe one simple change could be that everyone gets to see the first panel and the one before theirs.

The writer-artist variation sounds fun too!

You guys are free to do it.  I feel like I've had a good run as master of the comicompo, but I'd like to retire and hopefully participate in one for a change.  Whoever wants to run the next comic whatever is totally free to do so, I here by step down as head honcho.

I'm thinking about organizing a two-parter. One part for writers and the other for artists. Sorta like an assemblee comicompo. Probably won't call it a Comicompo, though. What say you, comicompo fans?

@Renton> I have a couple of questions:

1) Can I sign up to both write and draw, or do I have to choose?
2) What happens if, as an artist, a writer specifies something I have no inclination to draw whatsoever, such as "protagonist attacked by horde of vampire penises"?

Hello this is Pencerkoff

You guys are free to do it.  I feel like I've had a good run as master of the comicompo, but I'd like to retire and hopefully participate in one for a change.  Whoever wants to run the next comic whatever is totally free to do so, I here by step down as head honcho.

Would you still run / provide the website?  No sense in wasting that resource.

Also... the separation of writer and artist won't make the comicompo better.  People will still do dumb things.  Anything short of discrimination based on skill level will not improve the comicompo.

And I'm absolutely not drawing vampiric penises.

I'm down with either writing or art if this happens. I could do both too. Or neither. Whatever.

Also, I would imagine there are ways to imply vampire penis attacks without actually drawing them in the literal. Or, if nothing else, pull out the 'art is subjective' card.

Well, I'll have to;

- Find a way to limit writers.
- Find hosting.

After that, we'll be set to go.

Artists should be allowed some degree of freedom on the story too. So they would be able to include minor plot elements as long as they don't deviate to much and get back on story.

I don't know. I'm planning to go small, 15 writers and artists for 15 pages in total. There may not be much space for freedom when everyone just gets one page. Plus, the artists will be working from a script, so I don't think there can be much deviation from the written stuff.

And about the small size, if the 15/15 comic works well, we can just go bigger or have teams like third comicompo next time.
