I've played it a lot more, and I take back my comment on the sound effects from before. It was only a few of them that seemed harsh, such as the entrance of the red critter from the top, the siren like noise. Aside from that the game is far too addictive to even consider this a negative feature at all.

I can't honestly see anything i'd want to be different about it. Maybe instead of some of the crates having weapons, you keep your weapon, but gain a different ability, fast running, half the size, as big as the big guys for a couple of seconds, or something, I am sure the TIG force and yourself can think of actual good ideas on that front. But yeah that's just an idea of addition onto what you have, it's already great, i kinda wish i had it on my ipod!

great :D
there are some rather good ideas in there, I might try and see if I can throw it into challenge mode.

My friends love this. Installed it on school computers today by using some little exploit to get past the software restrictions. It made lessons a lot less boring today.

We usually play Mario Bros at school on GBA but we ended up playing this to see who could do better. It was awesome.  Smiley

FIGHT THE MACHINE! for you guys, there will be multiplayer in future versions

Jwaap, I've always liked your style.  This one is just as nice as your others.  The controls feel really solid, and I actually kind of like that the weapons are so unbalanced - it makes you feel that extra burst of fun when you get a flamethrower and burn everything up.

delete crates.sav, it's probably this old savefile messing things up for you.

This game is great! The only thing I would like to see are a few more enemies to shoot. Maybe something that crawls on the side of walls like the Zoomers from Metroid.

Thanks for the great game, man! I can't wait for newer versions.

Nice concept! I like the core idea, the fast pace and the weapon variety. I hope the final game isn't as repetitive and some bosses would be cool too.

I found some sounds a bit annoying maybe they won't stand out as much once there's some background music.

An escape movement would be good, sometimes I got trapped and couldn't do much to avoid death. But all in all looks promising, keep it up!  Coffee

Really nice and fun concept!

Can't wait to see the progression.  Tongue

Only thing that felt a bit odd was the katana accuracy. Is there a way to play in window mode? So it`s possible to see the nice pixel art. Fullscreen makes them big an blurry  Undecided.

i kinda wish i had it on my ipod!

Ditto!

This game is great. Nice for killing a bit of time.

Level based local high score would be great.

I'm a bit confused as to how the current high score works...
It shows
best:20 crates:48 kills:105 deaths:10

What's the 20 by best for? Did i miss something?

you get score for the crates you collect in a round!

best = best score
crates = total crates collected in all games
kills = total kills from in all games
deaths = total deaths in all games

Ahh! Gotcha! Yeah that makes sense now. Not used to cumulative stats for all playthroughs.

Super sweet. It's been awhile since I played something that I really enjoyed.

Here are some of my thoughts:
- weapon variety is great! But if you still can, give us some more! haha!
- love how the surroundings shake with the mini-gun. YOu can really feel the force coming out of its barrel!
- disc gun is my least favorite but fun nonetheless, first time I fired it, boy was I surprised.
- character controls are very smooth and natural
- the objective of getting the crates forces the player to move and not camp
- really love the art style
- multiplayer for this one would kick-ass, i bet!
- stages does seem a little cramped
- maybe, make the stages bigger so that you have more room to maneuver
- I wish I could also stomp on the enemies
- shotgun kinda lacks the punch that one would expect from it

That's all, i think.

Keep up the good work!

You think there will be a level editor?

And yeah, I think bosses could come every 5 to 10 crates, and there could be new enemies introduced every once in a while. That'd be nice.

More fan art!

Also, I found that even after getting a new crate, you can still switch to a different weapon by pressing the spacebar. So if I don't want the weapon that the crate's has given me, I would just press space and select the one that I'm most comfortable with.

Wouldn't it be more challenging if you can only use one weapon that you get from the crates? This would force players to learn how to use all weapons and master it, and would also encourage players to get more.

Just a suggestion. Really looking forward to this game! Cheers!

I managed to play one game before my VM ground to a halt. Is there any way to play windowed? Fullscreen things frighten me because I might miss something going on in the background!

It was goshdarned good fun. My friend is completely addicted but bitter because he can only get like 30 boxes on easy.
