I'm rather interested in Actionscript, but I haven't seen any tutorials that fit me. I know some Pascal and a bunch of Python. A bit of Brainfuck too but that's useless. Where can I learn?!

Hm. Seems interesting.
EDIT: See, I'm the kind who has trouble learning from tutorials. If you give me the source code for a game though, I could probably figure it out and learn that way.

Well, if you seriously mean that there's quite a few open source Flash projects. A word of warning - you don't want to be reading things written in an earlier version of Actionscript than 3.0. There have been substantial changes to the language and even bigger changes to the Flash libraries since earlier versions. Also, if you're familiar with Javascript... Actionscript is basically identical.

You win. Thanks :D
Also I basically have my first game done. I only have an enemy that follows the player and going to a certain frame when health = 0 left. Can't seem to get those to work.

Also flashkit's forums are really good if you get stuck. Specially General Help > Games

Yeah, was going to suggest Flashkit too. It used to be pretty decent. It was a pretty wide range. A lot of new people asking questions, but also a lot of pretty experienced developers answering most of them. Questions usually got answered fairly quickly and friendly-ly, back when I used to hang out there. (Was several years ago, so I take no responsibility if in the mean time they've turned into some strange internet-mad-max wasteland where bands of roving forum trolls kill one another for control over gasoline.)

That's pretty much what it's like during school breaks :/ there's topics like "help maek gta game", "how can I pause my game??!" and "best rpg idea ever!!11". But usually there's very talented and professional people helping each other and less experienced developers out.

You may want to check out haXe (pronounced hacks). Its a sane strongly typed language that compiles for JS, SWF (6 to 9) and its own server-side VM. Also its free, open source and all that stuff.

I wouldn't developing Prisoners of Puzzle if it wasn't for haXe. ActionScript 2 is teh suck (also haXe is opensource/free and multiplatform, while AS2 needs the Flash IDE which is costy and runs only under Windows and maybe Mac).

Haxe is probably a good alternative for Indies and People who cant effort Flash or Flex. But I by myself stay with Flash9 and AS3 =o) <3 When someone have some Flash Problems, you can PM or ICQ me.
