personally i dislike the explosions, too detailed, they have smaller pixels than the other objects so the low-res effect is totally ruined by that, is like you're using 8 pixel width quad for a pixel instead of a real low-res (that's the truth, but heh, use the same quad for all the stuff in the game)

anyway gameplay seems neat also in the bullet-time video Smiley

funny I really like the using larger "pixels" and then busting out some higher res particles effect.  Like all of puppy games seem to have that kinda thing going on.

That was really cool, but i was a bit confused on the second last level. It said somithing about "debug", so I used a shortcut to wall jump to the end. Also, you get an error message if you finish the game.

Otherwise, great job.

The sheriff is really fun to control. Nice job with that. Though I'm wondering what the ending would have been if I hadn't received an error message.

The error is the ending.

SPOILER:

Game tells people to kill anything mechanical to prevent this future. Computer kills the game.

I actually found the controls to be awkward at times. The inability to fire while jumping or moving, and the bizarre mechanics of jumping into a wall (such as immediately losing all vertical momentum) made the game frustrating to play.

Pretty fun mechanic, took some getting used to. Have to agree with Nightshade that the wall sticking was a bit awkward, but the jump/dive mechanism actually gave it a nice puzzle element.

Are you going to flesh this one out a bit further in the future?

i agree, the game seems nice but man, the jump method really sucks and ruin all the game for me, unplayable

Fun little game, would be great to see a longer, more polished version. Wink

The most jarring part of the controls to me is the mid-jump dive. If you press any arrow keys it seems to completely mess it up, causing you to stop, then suddenly move in a different direction. Wall jumping I'm okay with.
I like the gameplay, it's fun, but the jumping needs some refinement.

After playing more, air jumps seem completely broken to me, I seem to have almost no control over these odd random lurches left or right. Anyone else notice this?

Not bad, not bad at all. Smiley

There'll be no additional work on this though. Focus goes to super ninja hunter.

Man! That dive is really annoying. I'd have much rather had a standard double jump. Love the basic graphics, but I am a sucker for those pixels. Kudos for attempting something other than a run and shoot. Good stuff.

I really like the graphic style on this one.  Nice!  I agree the jump mechanics were a little tough to get used to, but the ideas were good and the control was doable once the basics were understood.  Keep up the good work.

I too have long since abandoned pants.  Shocked

Cheers,
