cool! i love the character shading, is done using velvet or is a lambert? physics seems strange on the video, for example on the last part, when the kart jumps and got hitted together they rotate strangely, but it's good enough for a cartoon racing game

Instead of trying to explain it, here is a video I pieced together from footage of a recent play test we had:
Could you also try to explain it? You're putting a lot of art in to it, but I can't tell from the video what makes the game itself more than just a vanilla kart racing game.

well, it's going to be very centered on personalization and multiplayer. There is still a long way to go in development and I am sure on the way we will run into some features that set it further apart from other kart games - but we are not going out of our way to to try and seem innovative for innovation's sake. We are big mario kart fans, and we want that same pace of fun and graphical appeal in an online PC game, with more emphasis on personalization and customization. We would also like to have map formats and scripted game rules as well as karts and characters that are open to customization and modding, so that people can come up with new content.
I haven't played a kart game on the PC that I thought was good yet, so we are gonna give it a shot.

lol I see the same thing! I like the association though - I think it gives off the right emotion. It makes me feel nostalgic and fuzzy.

All I know is my computer wont be able to run this But awesome I dunno, it's actually not that graphically taxing. We are trying to keep it as low spec as possible. We don't have any fancy or taxing graphical effects. We want to keep it as lightweight as possible. Unless you don't have a video card or a 3d chip :p

Gripes:
Either the speed of the cars or the acceleration is way off which is really evident at the start of that video. It's hard to tell exactly what's going on, but it kinda looks like you have a constant rate of acceleration and that's just not how cars work.
There's no sense of traction or weight behind the cars. The best part of kart racing games to me was powersliding round tight corners. It just seems dull when the cars grip perfectly to the road.
The roads are really wide. Smaller roads will encourage more competitive play. It's ok to have two rows of cars on the starting line.
