we are working hard to get the garage editor done, one - so that we will have it for the beta, but two - so we can release it separately before a demo is ready.

We have pretty much concluded that we need to have a running beta by october, so that it can be played online by IGF persons. How large and how open a beta we will be able to produce by then I still don't know.

Pior Oberson is the first person to make some custom content for Zero Gear! He has modeled a new character and hat for the game which I got into the engine today, check it out!

I made a siren hat, but I can't figure out how to get it into the format that you want, and I don't even know if it would work in the first place (since I had like, lights and it span and stuff)

well, it is in Ogre3d's .mesh format, so if you wanted to do any research on how to build an asset for that engine it would work in Zero Gear. You can also look in the polycount forums where I have given a little bit of insight on things - and also there is a blank character model posted there for reference purposes - http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=50426&page=10

also, a mohawk

*edit* one more
