I've decided to make the 'Famicase' compo encompass more than just Famicase itself. As such, I'm asking for people to post here links to other sources of fake game carts/boxes/disks that could be used as sources of inspiration for the compo. Please focus on sources that are original in concept and design, like most of the Famicase carts, and not simply "Take a new popular movie and imagine it on the Atari" or something like that. I'm also hearing suggestions for names for the compo, since I don't like the idea of calling it simply Famicase Competition. I'm trying to figure out a concise, preferrably 2-word-max name (with "competition" coming after the name in question). Here's the links we have so far, related to Famicase itself: Famicase '08Famicase '09Famicase '10A video on FamicaseAll Famicase carts in a fancy Flash app (takes a WHILE to load this bitch)More links to come, please post your own! I also heard that thre were famicases before 2008 (fairly sure there was one 2007), but I can't find links to the carts.

All famicase carts in an easy to download package.MirrorI honestly don't like these much, because they're not original/unusual designs. They're just getting popular films and turning them to videogames, which is not the focus of this compo. Maybe I'll clarify that.

Man, some of those 2005/2006/2007 ones look dope. Somebody needs to find higher-quality scans of them.
EDIT:
Somebody in irc gave me the idea of the name Box.Game.Competition. Or Case.Game.Competition, or even Game.Case.Comp.
What do you guys think?

I actually like Case.Game.Comp because it's the logical progression.
Case --> Game

I stumbled across this site ( http://www.vgboxart.com/), looks like mostly fanart for existing games, but I think there may be some original stuff in there if you look hard enough

Oh whens the compo start?? Monday. I stumbled across this site ( http://www.vgboxart.com/), looks like mostly fanart for existing games, but I think there may be some original stuff in there if you look hard enough Did a bit of looking, and I honestly didn't find anything very interesting. Seems to be purely focused on fanart and imagining new games in old consoles, or vice-versa. Let me know if someone finds something more original there, otherwise I won't suggest it as a resource.

Mmm, Kjell didn't post the one he posted on irc. Does anyone still have the link?
Also from irc, a new possible name, "A Game By Its Cover" Competition.

IndieCase seems to focus more on making cases themselves.
What's the meaning behind Enclosure?
Also, I'm announcing that thanks to Cthulhululu opening my eyes I won't be nearly as strict with the use of the carts as I was planning to be.

'Lost In Translation'?
I actually would go for just Case.Game myself.
