I don't know if i got permission to open a new thread but i'm taking the risk. here's the firts good draft of the stage (sadly without deskpot icons and without the forum): the gray squares are supposed to be icons and the Brawl Player still need buttons but i think i did a good job for now ^^

For the icons, grab the icons for all/most of the games used in the game.

The background is way too visually noisy.

to be fair, if frikman is willing to do as much of the work he can on it, there is no reason we can't have it.

But it's okay. An extra thread to discuss the idea doesn't hurt. to be fair, if frikman is willing to do as much of the work he can on it, there is no reason we can't have it.
Not necessarily. It needs music as well as graphics- and they both need to be up to the quality of the rest of the game. And depending on how involved the stage gets, it could also require a fair amount of programming and balancing. A stage of this sort could be useful for showing off sites and developer tools. I dislike the fact that the applications shown are all imaginary. What is Mirrors XP anyways? Also, you might want to try to fit IB's resolution better. 512x384 will fit without scaling or scrolling. 640x480 is also a good size.

I gathered. What I'm not sure about is what a Windows parody has to do with indie games.

no. i was initially against the idea for that reason. maybe it could become a tigsource level?
Scrolling down through procedurally generated (not randomly generated) posts, about different indie game, and screenshots playing a part in the level?
Most of the resources are there already for this design, all you need to do is find suitable screenshots.

Maybe it should be the journey from a manbaby to a mod.

This. No inside memes. No tigsource memes or things that only people from here will get.

An Indie Brawl level would be ok I think, but that would work as an original level. Like the 'arena' stages from Smash Bros., Final Destination and Battlefield.
Then again, I think something like that is in the plans.

I vote for, remove reference to imaginary and existing OS, But a level made with indie games' site and TIG main page (avoiding meme) and fill with some bit informations about their game.
If the level have swappable graphic part that would adjust to players character it will be even better.
