Beat it. It's like sexy hiking but sexier. I only got two feathers. Are there more? They were hilariously awesome.

I got three feathers.  I ended up with 96% item completion.  I had 180 health, so I guess I missed two coins, maybe?  I didn't even try to look through the maze for items.

I enjoyed the full version but would have liked more places where you would have to toss yourself (as I mentioned earlier, I found this the most fun thing to do).

Also, I was able to glitch through a certain thin wall by grabbing onto it and kind of pressing my body against it.  I would twitch against it and sometimes just pop through.  Specifically, it was after I got the giant-size powerup and it was the wall underneath the armor powerup.  I don't know if that wall is the only one you can glitch through or if having giant size matters.

I see that you've continued on with your game. Good work!

I played through the full game until my arms ached. I don't know if my method of grappling the wall is proper or not but the control scheme really does need some getting used to.

Interesting game, but it's... really not very polished. I know you had limited time, but really, anything with stock jpg graphics is kind of a turn off for me.

This game is a chore to play. Which I guess is the point.

It is interesting... The game, like someone already mentioned, is kinda a chore to play, but it works.

What annoyed me was that the guy arm is like super stiff, meaning that if you get in a place that you need to grab something in front of you, you can't, you can only hope that you can tweak your position until you reach what you want, to THEN do your jump or whatever.

And the graphics, sorry dude, but they suck... Especially with photos mixed with drawings.

The maze is annoying (Some people can claim that mazes are a crutch to the game designer hide stuff or make the gameplay artifically longer).

I REALLY liked playing pinball with fruits Smiley I spent a good time there flinging myself around in the fruits, it was like... WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

And the music although good becomes annoying sometimes, or repetitive... That sort of stuff, specially in the two initial areas where you hear the same music for a LOOOOONG time.

I saw this on JayisGames the other day and loved it!

The movement is really aggravating initially, since you're literally crawling one arm length at a time. Once you get your first feather, everything changes. Of all the powerups, the feather is the one that actually makes you feel like you've getting capable.

The armor powerup seems arbitrary to collect, since getting it is much harder than beating the game. Not to mention, the way the level is arranged I'd be surprised if less than 90% of players get the embiggening powerup first, which makes armor even harder to reach. I'd switch the location of those two powers.

Besides those minor tweaks, the game is fantastic. The types and amount of powerups are perfect, and the levels all are well designed and varied. The length of the game is just right - by the time you've collected all the hidden items you've exhausted the novelty of the control scheme.

The graphics didn't bother me. They certainly could have been better, but for the length and style of the game they worked perfectly. The final climb felt just right, and if you had trouble you could easily mitigate that by going back and hunting for the missing powerups.

I'd like to see more games in this genre, Metroidvanias that revolve around strange movement mechanics and have appropriately strange powerups to match.

Great game! You definitely deserve the top spot in the competition!

Thanks for the feedback as always.

I'm working on a small update for the game, making the spirit powerup not suck and placing the first feather in a more obvious spot (so that most players get it)

Oh look! The You Have No Legs game.

Think I got, maybe half way through before I put it down? A welcome challenge, with great  atmosphere.

Update!

http://www.nagnazul.com/YHNL%20v1.1.swf

Basically, I fixed some of the annoying/broken stuff.

-Added a preloader
-Changed the worst room in the game
-Moved a couple powerups around (first feather is easier to get)
-Crappy power-up replaced with awesome power-up
-Mashing the mouse button makes the power-up pop-up go away
-Added a secret room (it's awesome)

Still the same game, but it's slightly better now. Save files should be compatible across versions (I think).

Try it out, tell me if you find any bugs!
