I've uploaded a really simple demo of the basic mechanics. It's all placeholder art for now, but should give you the idea of how the game will play. CHECK IT

Added a couple more elements to the basic demo. It's even got a little puzzle going on. :-D
I'm really happy with progress so far and hopefully can get some art going on pretty soon!

I think this one's going to be really fascinating. An adventure game with music as your reward. Pointless fetch quests become an opportunity to experience music in a new way! I think I could get on board with that.
If you want to make it more of a platformer, that would be good too. Levels can change depending on the beat. I've had ideas about such a game for a while, but it's probably very complicated.
Anyway, keep up the good work! I'm going to be watching this one.

New version has come a long way from one screen demo I posted a while ago. Now there's side-scrolling, a lot more loops, and effects!

Haha, I love the tunes you have here man. Mixing them in different configurations is fun. Though I found some bugs with the elevators and the platforming in general. Sometimes I found myself walking on the air.
It's pretty nice already, and could be even better with some graphic flair and gameplay tweaks. Audio is already pretty awesome.

Yah, movement is a little bit gross. Haven't really dug into why you pop off of elevators sometimes.
Hopefully there will be some graphic flair inserted in the next few days. Curious about what gameplay tweaks you think it could benefit from? There is at least one I intend to make, but I don't want to lead your feedback by mentioning it. :-)
Audio is what I do, so that's why it's the most polished.

I guess I just mean tightening what you have here now, and maybe add some puzzleish elements related to picking the right tunes to play at any specific time.

Ah, yes of course! I guess I was thinking of the technical side of things. Kevin contributed several of the sweet loops.

Another update, hopefully addressing some of the gameplay issues. You don't have click on dudes for them to start jamming with you now, as long as you are playing what they want to hear. It's just proximity based. Also created pickups for the Effects, so that people know they exist and hopefully use them. :-D
