After a lot of thinking, and reconsidering my latest piece of art, THE HANGOVER (an art game) I have come up with an art game even better. yes, it really is.

Screenshots will blow the whole amazing experience.

To be honest:
I really liked this one from the audio-visual side!
The Hangover wasn't really my cup of tea but this one was interesting. Not very playable (because the amount of planes became ridiculous after 175) but it always looked like some kind of expressionist painting. Smiley
Good Job!

Looking forward to more work: BaronCid

Deconstructivist constructivism within a parody of self regulatory anarchism. How very compelling.

Bravo.

You are better of calling these experimental games. Art games they are not.

Sir, you forget yourself.

Experimenting is the derivative of elementary number work carried out by scientists and ENGINEERS. Clearly jwaap is neither of these and his work is inspired by much deeper inner thoughts.

I thought this piece brilliantly captured the experience of a lagged jet and its struggles to keep up in a competitive money-driven transportation market where speed is everything.

You obviously don't know the definition of experiment

Beyond that, your arbitrary critique of the game is rather boring.

I found it rather interesting and relaxing. Much better than the hangover IMO.

Maybe you count it as a failure but I actually played this game a lot of times.

In my opinion, "Jetlag" is something in between. It's experimental art.
And what modern piece of art hasn't been experimental?
By the way: The things Movius described actually make it art:
There are certain motives the creator worked with when creating "Jetlag".
Maybe you can't play Jetlag for a long time, but having played it two or three times you realize certain ideas behing it. That's what art is about.

Maybe we can even draw a line between modern and nonmodern art in video games?

If you take something like a... Van Gogh Painting (or even a renaissance piece of art) you can watch it for hours and it's motives aren't clear. The whole thing just touches you as a human. That's why it's best to hang them into your room and look at them over and over again.
Games like Shadow of the Colossus or Okami may represent that artform.

On the other hand: Modern art really transmits certain ideas. (That's what makes it different from... say... expressionistic/impressionistic art)
"Jetlag" does that, "Gravitation" does that.

What do you think about that idea?

I liked this better than The Hangover, as it was actually a game.  The blurred jets were beautifully done, and the graphics gave the game an overall quirky feeling, especially with the rotating text.  The game-image-to-highscore-table-background was a nice touch as well.

I look forward to seeing some more of these art games.  You certainly have a very distinctive style.
