I was much more inspired by the image than the description for this, though it does sound interesting (the Sargasso sea in space??
). While the description lends itself towards a large scope exploration sim, I'm going for a bit more cliche with the Horror-on-a-space-station-shooter. Though really the mood I'm going for is more atmospheric than horror, like what can be seen in the films 2001, Solaris, or Moon (especially their soundtracks).
So: Top-down 2d shooter, made with Flixel and Flash. I'll post some early shots once I get a level that doesn't look like an utter piece of testing hodge-podge.
