I'm not asking for an event, but out of curiosity, is there anyone in the Grass Valley/Nevada City section of California (like, Nevada County)? I think I'm all alone. Concerned

I know this is a bad thread, but I didn't really want to start a thread of my own for a small question like this...

I hear ya. I'm stuck in the North San Diego County (In California) and would be happy, nigh, even GLEEFUL if there was anything going on in my area/if there were any tig people here.

I don't have the means to support a gathering of SUPERAWESOMEINDIES in my area but I would go to one if someone could do so!

For indies in Utah, we have a group that gets together quarterly (in SLC or Orem).  Our next mtg is on the 29th of July at ITT-Tech.  http://www.utahindiegames.org

Write ups of past events can be found on my blog and also the Rampant Coyote's Blog

St. Louis has an indie dev meet-up, happens every month. We've had two thus far and are running a game jam on Saturday. Here's the meet-up site: http://www.meetup.com/St-Louis-Game-Developers/

Hey, also, it would be awesome if people could add meetups to the tigsource facebook group as well. I'd do it, but either I don't have the privileges, or I don't know how.

Good idea. Unfortunately, I don't know how either. I'll see what I can find out about this. Smiley

I've been organizing a weekly game dev co-work meetup in the Boston area about 6 weeks now. I wanted to announce that we've finally found a more permanent home in a really awesome community workspace called Sprout in Somerville, MA.

If you are in the Boston area and want to check it out drop me a message or email. Typically we've been meeting every Tuesday from around 10am to 6pm (give or take.)

So far it is only 1-3 game devs that have been coming but interest is slowly growing. I figure it will maybe hit 5 or 6 regulars eventually and the space we are in could comfortably support 8.  There is a small kitchenette, a refrigerator, great wifi bandwidth, power, tables, and chairs.  Tons of cool non-game creators are using the space as well.  There is an electronics, machine and woodworking shop, electronics testing gear, musical instruments, and great chances for connections outside the game development community.

The space is also free to use with donations being welcomed.  I'm glad we are finally moving out of the noisy cafes.
