The Boston Indies event listed in the op is kinda out of date, this site shows upcoming events and locations: http://www.bostonindies.com/There are a ton of other game dev (but not indie specific) events/meetups around Boston/Cambridge; if anyone's in the area feel free to PM me and I can point you to some others!

Knoxville Game Design meets the second Sunday of every month at 2pm at the technology cooperative in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. We have been meeting regularly since 2012. We have also been doing a Ludum Dare kickoff the Friday before every LD event. http://www.knoxgamedesign.org/I'll also plug game development group in Lexington, Kentucky called RunJumpDev. I haven't been to one of their meetings yet (Tuesday nights), but it sounds like a good group of developers. http://runjumpdev.org/

A local dev (and now friend) is trying to set up something in central South Carolina (Columbia / Lexington / Irmo / etc.). The best place to stay updated is: https://twitter.com/SGXpoRight now it's just our two teams showing up, but hopefully more come soon!

I'm curious if there are any meetups or gatherings in the Netherlands area. I know that GameMaker is originally Dutch and the local government appears to sponsor a number of indie studios, but haven't heard of any events so far...
