I'm in Seattle. I'd be interested. Are you going to this?

If anyone is near New Hampshire, there's a local group that just started a few months back. It's been awesome so far, and all devs are welcome, pros, hobbyists, and students! http://www.igda.org/group/NewHampshire We've been meeting monthly in Manchester, at a restaurant/arcade called Jokers, the next one is on the 26th!

I second the Cali request, but as a musician looking to connect with devs and make music for their games! I'm an hour north of LA.

I'm wanting to join a indie meet-up around Reisterstown, Maryland, perhaps?

You are in luck, there seems to be a decent indie gathering in MD and DC!

So far I've attended BIG and Baltimore Unites - and I'd recommend both!  Grin

In Belgium we have three monthly meet-up groups that I know of.
They all organize on facebook, so i'll post links to their groups if you don't mind.

House of Indie - Antwerp, Belgium
House of indie organize the Indie Game Salon every months and Screenshake festival every year as well as several game jams.

Brotaru - Brussels, Belgium
Brotaru is the Brussels equivalent to Japan's Otaru. Monthly meet ups and game jams.

L'Apéro du Jeu Vidéo - Liège, Belgium
L'Apero is another meet up group. They have a facebook group but it's a closed FB group so I linked one of the events instead.

Hey, just posting here to link to a mini-jam I'm hosting in NYC this Saturday:

http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=47079.0

Also, Babycastles is starting a new residency/coworking program. If you're in the NY/NJ area and need a place to work, are looking to meet other local devs, etc. take a look below for more info!

Just as a note for anyone looking for a game jam near them, over at http://www.indiegamejams.com/, we have a local map (hit the map button!) with an up to date map of all the physical game jams going on around you!

Hey guys I'm in charge of the Indie Cluster. We are an a umbrella group of indie in Atlanta, GA that come and spread information about events and business tactics. We have a traveling booth like the Indie Mega Booth (of course not as big) and a podcast call #IndieDEV. We are apart of the game scene in Atlanta and involved in all of the meetups, events, and expos. Follow our monthly podcast at IndieCluster.com to stay updated!!

Yo, are there any indies in the Culver City LA area?

There should be some since there is the Indiecade event happening at Culver City, you would think there would be a big scene of indie developers gathering together, I'm in the same boat and looking for a meetup around San Gabriel Valley/Los Angeles area, I checked last night at meetup.com to see if there were any but it looks very inactive and nothing coming up until next month. I've been developing on my own meanwhile but I seek to collaborate, it's hard to grow otherwise. If nothing comes up, I'm willing to meet up with you and fellow LA devs, PM me if you are interested and I can provide you my phone no as I just came from E3 last week and just talking to people, it sounds like to succeed there has to be a team.

Sorry for the rant, thanks for listening.

To Washington DC/Northern Virginia/Maryland folks, since I posted that other thread about upcoming events, I thought I'd let you all know about a number of cool meetup groups you should join!

Beta Meet DC

Great way to get some playtesting in on early builds of your games!

http://www.meetup.com/BetaMeetDC/

Coder/Designer Keggers

More of a general tech and business meetup, but game developers are welcome, and James and Lis (the meetup's organizers) love it when we bring our games for demo's and playtests! Also, free beer!

http://www.meetup.com/CDK-Coder-Designer-Keggers/

DC-MD-VA MS Devs

This meetup is for any and all software and game developers creating content for Microsoft platforms!

http://www.meetup.com/DC-MS-Devs/

Gaming in Public

Granted, this is more of a "gamer" group than a "gamedev" group, but we have developers in our group, and the non-devs are always very receptive toward locally-developed indie games; it's a great way to get some feedback in a relaxed, casual and fun setting.

http://www.meetup.com/Gaming-In-Public/

IGDA DC

Local IGDA chapter. Our next event is tomorrow!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/igda.dc/

Washington, DC Area Unity Users Group

If you're a Unity expert, this is the group for you!

Valencia, Spain - Meet-up Group: http://www.meetup.com/GameDevs-Valencia/

We meet monthly, and our technical director is the founder of the group. If you are in town, you can always ping us and we'll meet up with fellow indies for a drink or two!

Best.

It doesn't look like this is being updated anymore. But I've got some Brisbane meetups worth plugging! I'll add more later.

Game Development Brisbane, Game Technology Brisbane

A pair of meetups which have the same format: a speaker talks on an interesting subject, and then we all go for drinks afterwards to network! Game Tech is all things programmer-y, whereas Game Dev includes most of everything else.
