I've been banging my head against the wall trying to find something that can make a decent choir track for a song I'm working on that isn't you know, $200+. Looking for that haunting male choir tone but something that isn't so synthesized that it sounds like it came straight from Final Fantasy VI.

Any ideas that won't cost a ton? Thanks. :D

Here is an orchestral soundfont that includes two sorts of choirs. The "Choir+Ahhs" one, somewhere in octaves below 5, sounds really good and ominous.

An entire orchestral soundfont with only a few choir bits is not really the most elegant solution, though. So... everybody post some more choir soundfonts. I could use them too!

This is quite a bit better than what I had before. Thanks for the help. :D One day I'll get more expensive stuff, but just not today.

On a different note, I saw that Sonar 8.5 Studio is $180 right now. I'm wondering if I should get it and replace reaper... Any suggestions?

http://magnus.syntheway.net/ is an okay choir VST.
You can also try EWQL Symphonic Choirs. Your mileage may vary.

If I was making decent coinage from my music I'd definitely buy something from EWQL, but right now that's a pretty hard pill to swallow.
