My game will be done, but I will be able to make better music with another week.

And possibly cutscenes. Because! More important than anything! Are cutscenes.

Yo, What if we finish before the deadline and it's extended? We're allowed to edit our "Finished game" post to reflect the updated game, yeah?

An extra week, while not needed, would be very nice. Next week I'm working the evening shift, which is about 3 hours of work and 5 hours of unfettered free time. I could add a whole ton of stuff to my game in a week.

Everyone is allowed to edit their games until the deadline, regardless of their completed status, as long as they ALWAYS maintain the Finished Entry post with the link to the most current version.

In fact, you're allowed to do bugfixes and other small changes past the deadline as well. I don't really see a reason not to allow that, though you should refrain from adding new content past the deadline.

However, once I build the webpage with the entries (I'll see about getting help with that), your link won't be changed save for some big mistake. As such any new builds need to be accessible from the links you provided, or it'll be too much hassle for everyone involved.

So, I guess I can recommend you to make sure the game's bugs and balance issues are mostly fixed around the time the deadline comes.

Just want to say that I really appreciate those taking other people but themselves into consideration when voting, and those voting with the hope to improve the competition entries. That's a really good and social spirit! GentlemanHand Thumbs Up Right

I voted yes so we will see more finished and polished and ambitious contributions.
That said, not certain me and my team will make it, though.

I'm leaning towards an extension but this time it's not needed.  I had plenty of source material and due to having mock-up screenshots all the gameplay and graphics already were basically there.  I hope other people also found this compo easier to deal with.

Just noticed this thread! (im bad with stickies)
I voted yes but slightly hoping for a no. Going in crunch mode starting tonight. An extra week would allow me to polish and maybe add some stuff I already cut out due to lack of time.

We are a two-man team and this is our first time to join a competition here in tigsource. Since our workload (real work) has been heavy for this month, we didn't have much time to work on our entry. It would be quite a shame if we wouldn't be able to share our game to the rest of the community. So definitely a YES from us. Grin

I voted yes, because even though concrete deadlines are nice, this comp is about the fun of it...and I am having fun.  Plus, I know I am not the only one, I have a full-time job that has been taking away from this.

At the same time, my team needs to start cranking on the next comp we are supposed to be working on.

Still the extra week would allow us to finish the enemies and better tune the models.  GAH!! still need to finish the boss! Tongue

Well, it's official. Due to some pretty overwhelming voting in favor of it, the compo is now officially extended by one week, and will end August 7th.

Now get back to work. Grin
