That's some real nice ASCII, Melly, great interpretation of the cover. I can't really make heads or tails of the gameplay from the information given., but it sure looks intriguing. It is it going to be some kind of roguelike? Stealth game?? Haunted house??! All three??!! None of them??!!!  Crazy

The gameplay will be a sort of simple adventure game in ascii, with a few possible roguelike features. I wanna put more focus on the story this time.

Now, the themes, those you will find out when it's time. Wink

Most of the work is going on background stuff. Hopefully I'll have more delicious images for your viewing pleasure.

I'm starting to reconsider both the cart and the game style picks I made, as I'm having some setbacks with the engine. It might be a better idea to focus on a simpler pixelated game that I could get done in a short ammount of time instead of trying to work this damn roguelike engine so it's not sllugish as hell.

Looks really cool.  I especially like what you were experimenting with in this image

specifically the dithered tiles next to the solid color tiles of the same (sexy!) color palette. Good luck!

Thanks. Smiley I keep saying I want to make an actually artistically impressive roguelike with all the limitations (minus the color pallete and default console size of 80x25) that come with it (though I could work with that console size without issues. It may be interesting. The original pallete, though, I'm not using. That thing is murder to the eyes).

I made great strides in optimizing and making the rendering code more stable. There's still some ground to be covered, and I'm still not sure if I'll take this cart. I'm getting more ideas to make a survival-style rogue instead of a lynchian adventure game.

Perhaps I'll take the Ruins cover and make a post-apocalyptic sort of survival game where you have to survive with extremely low provisions inside abandoned ruins destroyed by a great war?

And then you find psychic ghosts. Grin PSYCHHOLLER

Do I smell a boy with psychic powers being chased around a hotel in the wintertime by his father with an axe?
Or is it just me.

Either way, it looks pretty cool!
