Great game, though. I think this is the straightest interpretation of a cartridge I have seen so far. You translated the art into pixels excellently; it looks great. I like the music, too. It's short, but you didn't have a lot of time, so that's understandable.

Thanks for the compliments on the art! I'm actually really interested in adding a few more levels and working on implementing some of the features I had to cut to make it into the compo. I figure there's a workable structure for a fun time attack game in here.

Your game title on the first post reads Ascenso.

Ha, that's what I get for lazily copying-pasting the format for the first post. Fixed!

Got 4 minutes something on my first try. My second try got me 02:02:23 however. I love the style. Great game!

In lvl 5 it's impossible for me to jump up even to the banana, so I couldn't get past that point.

Hey JaJitsu, how well does the game run on your computer? If you hit the tilde (~) key and console should roll down and you'll get a framerate number in the corner. You should be able to jump up precisely a little over 3 blocks high so the banana should be in reach.

Good stuff, nice and polished. I might try speedrunning this after I've played some more games.

Uh-oh, I had the same problem as @Jajitsu, can't get past "TIMING". I did hit the tilde to bring up the console, and it seems to be around 60fps, occasionally dipping to 40fps or so.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I figured out the issue with the jumping and uploaded a new version of the game (along with an additional stage at the end). Let me know if that fixes the issue!

Nice sound and graphics, clean design, little fun game! I just don't like up arrow for jumping also I always hated this kind of timed blocks on Mega Man games because, well, I'm impatient and I think it would be better if you didn't have to wait that long for the blocks to appear/disappear, but that's probably a death wish.

This is a good, solid entry. The graphics are nice and fit the game/cart well. New elements are introduced at a good rate and the difficulty curve is pretty much spot on. Good work.
