Feel like this is a theme that has already been done to death in the games industry, and done WELL at that... so...

Let's all hope some sort of time paradox occurs and the theme switches over to the one about technology in a time it doesn't belong.

You guys aren't thinking hard enough.

Surfing enemy robots flying in the sky to destroy other flying robots, and hop from one to another to save yourself from the sure destruction of your current robot.

...but yea, there were better themes.

I wasn't too thrilled at the theme, but i'm making it work.
Grappling hooks make everything better. Well, hello there!

Guess I'll try a Ludum Dare! I've never done it before, but I've made some decent progress with my entry today...

I have an idea, but I've been busy.  I may make a small entry tomorrow and submit it to the jam though.

This is my first LD and I've learned a hard lesson: don't over do it. Looking around at progress reports and already submitted games, I see that people are mostly choosing a game mechanic and then prototyping that mechanic in a simple way. They aren't making a full blown game so much. I, on the other hand, had the strange idea in my head that I would be able to make a complete, level-based game complete with bosses and puzzles in 48 hours. I'm just about to the point where I can start making levels... anyway, it's been a blast and there's still some time left. Let's see how this goes.

It's been fun so far, wasnt really one of my top choices for theme but I gave it a shot.

Here's what I have from last night. I've been prettying it up, trying to make it less buggy, and making some new levels.

Why do you have to include the source with your entry?
Just to prevent cheating?

it's just a way to maintain honesty. If you know your source *might* be looked at, you are probably less likely to use pre-made assets

I think the main reason source is provided is because Ludum Dare is meant to be a community learning experience.  If someone wonders how you did something, they can look at the source, and possibly figure it out.  Also, you coded it in less than 48 hours;  It's not like people are going to be able to steal any revolutionary piece of code.

That's at least how I figure.

Just finished in the nick of time!

According to my computer's clock, my last save of the source for this was literally the minute that submissions started. Anyway, I think it went pretty well! Give it a try Grin
