I made another one //Deliciousness
I think this program is the best thing I've ever made. Adding your pic to the first post. Because I can. But still, I have feedback! I don't think the lower parts of that river should show that purple edge like the upper areas. It looks weird with the perspective.

Your pictures make me wonder about the gameplay feasability of a roguelike with a 3D terrain like that and an isometric view. I imagine it would need to be smartly design to not be visually confusing and for stuff not to get in the way.
But it would be so awesome.

Amazing stuff, guys.
As for your question, Melly:
It's basically a game like Mr. Driller, except it has more stuff like caves in it, jewels etc. It's like Mr. Driller + Spelunky, kind of.
The RED THING below the green 500 is the player, after using the jetpack from the right of the screen. The player just grabbed a white diamond (500 score points).
I've been wanted to make this game for some time, but I just have no motivation for it etc.

Hm, I figured out a weird way to draw a line. If you right click somewhere, when you left click somewhere else on the screen it will make a line from where you right clicked to where you left clicked.

I've always wondered what an ascii racing game would look like. I imagine this one as somehow being turn based. Really cool looking, the audience is so cute!

There's some awesome stuff here, especially from Xion. I really want to see rougelikes that look more like this stuff.

This is too hard for me. I had to rely on the spotted characters almost exclusively. And where I strayed from these characters it looks terrible. I would prefer that the selectable characters were a bit larger and spaced out; I have a hard time seeing what is what. This and maybe a zoom in on a portion of the canvas. Arrow keys to pan cropped region of canvas seemed strange. I'd like something like arrow keys to change brush character. Why does "clear layer" fill layer with the current brush? I have to switch to eraser to get it to do what I expected.

Almost: the clear layer thing is nice - if you want to have a solid green canvas to start or something, you can do that, but if you want to clear it, you can do that, too (I only realized after a while that the NT next to the colors were usable, and useful, at that.)

Space camel with a backpack. And for some reason he's in a traffic jam on the moon.

Two things. A select tool is absolutely critical. I want to copy, paste and move around pieces of the picture, especially when making mockups. You must use code page 437. This is what most if not all roguelikes use. If you compare it to yours, you can see that it includes certain characters missing from your set... Like horizontal half-tiles, and trantitions between single and double box drawing symbols.

I'll be all over this once brush-sizes are implemented.
