This program is awesome- but for some reason, it won't recognise the files it saves for me. Not only that, but it saves in a really ridiculous location- buried off in some folder in Unity's stuff.

I can still just do everything in one go and then save it as a .PNG, I guess, but... any idea why it's doing this/how to stop it?

EDIT: Ok, it seems like it was just saving them as generic files for a while there, so I manually renamed them to .APP and .APL files. Then it still wouldn't recognise them, I restarted it a bit, it crashed, and now it's recognising them fine again.

No idea what caused it.

Flash's filesystem stuff is pretty limited, since Flash is meant to work in a sandbox, preferrably without direct contact with the computer. Which is why I can't save stuff without window prompts unless I use Shared Objects.

As such, I'm not sure if I can fix those things. Where it'll point to save the files first probably depends on some kind of session variable in your computer. It seems random most of the time, though it tends to lock to wherever you save last. You can choose where you want to save it at any time, though, so just be sure to check that.

If you remove the file extension in the save window, it'll save as a generic file without an extension. I'm going to look into it, but I don't think there's any way to force the extension into the file name. But maybe I'm just looking at the wrong place.

I'll add an "All files" filter option to the load window in the next version.

Curse you Melly! Now I have ANOTHER game I have to make! Cry
Tiny Roguelike :3

I haven't really sorted out this idea yet, but it's supposed to be some kind of 'lite' roguelike, mission-based... I don't know!

And some random tid-bits...

No, I didn't steal the idea of an ASCII shmup. What a silly notion. *shifty eyes*

I like designing HUDs.

This stuff is amazing!
And Markham's city and Xion's goblin scene are just perfect. Markham gave me a perfect game idea, which I'm going to work on now, Xion too, but the idea he spawned might be a little beyond me right now Wink
Anyway the tool is just perfect.

Possible sugestions:
ctrl+z -> undo option that goes further than one
a hotkey switch button between colours. switches background/character colours.

GREAT WORK!
makes me procrastinate. alot!

It would be convenient if, when using the picker, it would switch to the brush after picking so you could start painting right away.

And if possible, change the cursor so we know what tool is selected.

Really like the stuff being pumped out of this. Definitely going to make a full, wallpaper sized faces-of-finn when copy/paste is implemented.

I'm gonna see about adding charset options in the next version, including my personal modified and the original versions of each charset (for the purists). I'm also going to add color palette choices (My palette that comes with this version and the original fully-saturated-with-black-added retina-killing monstrosity that I'm sure some people are nostalgic about, for starters), and I'd like suggestions for other 16-color palettes as well, preferrably that maintain to the original's color picks (red, dark red, green, dark green, blue, dark blue, cyan, dark cyan, magenta, dark magenta, yellow, dark yellow, black, dark grey, light grey, white), but I'm also willing to add something like CGA/EGA palettes or palettes of other old computer systems that had text interfaces.

All suggestions welcome, and please provide pictures of the charset and palettes you'd like to suggest for the program.

What do you mean it won't load?

And could you provide me with a picture of the palette you'd prefer? It's much more helpful.

I mean i would change it to red/white dots so its lighter, not that i wanted a different palette. Sorry for the misunderstanding Smiley

And for some reason the project files werent loading (nothing came up) but it seems to work fine now.
