Ive had this pathetic excuse not to do any creative work for about a year = artists block.

A few weeks ago i broke it down. Every peice of that motherfucker, every brick in my head now obliterated so im back- better than ever, completely unstoppable! Evil

Heres chapter 1:
Some old sprites i had which i really liked the look of- seemed like a simple project to start on. It will be about 15mins of play and whilst the gameplay and ideas are nothing spectacular; im placing little things along the game to keep it fun, start-till-end. I have a sickening work ethic so get the fresh pots in and ill have it finished in 8days.

The art looks very nice. One thing that I really must know... why are those helicopters bleeding?

I will definitely play this once it comes out :D

Looks more like a hole in the helicopter than bleeding to me.

the mini-helicopter thing to the left is kinda ugly compared to the other sprites though. Everything else is real nice.

Finished main engine and level 1. Heres a lil mockup of lvl 2:



the chopper is actually a simple block, but the red-arrow the copter follows is resting over it making it look like a fish, the blood on the large copter is as if everyone inside it has been ripped to shreds and now blood is pouring out the windows.

I want level 2 immediately.

I really like the atmosphere you set with the black-on-color contrast.  The red sky definitely goes a long way as well.  That being said, level 2 hits much closer to horror for me than level 1.  The combination of rough, jagged teeth and the starkly contrasting white eye perfectly disturbs the serene-looking water.

I'm really loving the overall vibe of the game thanks to the superb colour choices. The first pic doesn't really strike me as very horrific, though I have to say I do find the idea of a profusely bleeding helicopter weirder than the occupants inside bleeding out. The giant shark is looking all kinds of awesome right there. Grin:handthumbsupR:

Just finished lvl 2.



Now spending the next 3 days (maybe less), on lvl 3 which is set inside a cave, and is more of a mouse avoider (getting through the cave) than a shooter. You also have to bomb lanters, to light the path ahead.

That looks totally rad.  Do the eyes on the bats and such glow in the dark?  Looking at that screenshot, it seems like you could do some really cool things with the player seeing eyes coming up but not able to see what they belong to.  (Could make for a great boss reveal also.)

Anway, loving the idea of this game.  Really looking forward to seeing where you take it!
