Hey all.

ABOUT SUBVEIN
Subvein is a top-down multiplayer shooter. Think of Counter Strike merged with GTA2, and then add the strategic skills system of Diablo. It's a 20MB download and completely free, so join a server, run around and get killing!

As you kill enemies you'll gain experience and mutate. This gives you a new skill point which you can then invest to unlock new and powerful skills and further define your character. So you have guns, skills, vehicles.. and you run around playing intense game modes like Deathmatch and CTF blowing eachother up. The action might be a bit too fast-paced for some, but I think you'll really enjoy it.

BASIC CONTROLS
WASD to move.
B to buy guns and V to buy vehicles.
N to unlock skills (whenever you level up).
Left click to shoot weapons and right click to use skills.
E to pickup guns and enter/exit vehicles.
Y to chat and say hello and ask questions


SOME FUN SKILLS
There are 33 skills to choose from spread across 3 skill trees. Invisibility speaks for itself. Pefect for running up behind someone and stabbing them in the back. Bullet Time causes all bullets around you to move at 3% speed, allowing you to dodge and weave your way around them. Blade Fury spawns a bunch of sharp blades to spin around you, slicing enemies who get too close.


DEVELOPMENT STUFF
I've been working on this game solo for almost 3 years now in my spare time. I only just released the version with vehicles a couple weeks ago and already the community has tripled. There aren't that many players yet, but with a little luck we'll see more soon. I'm still working on the game (balances, bug fixes etc..), but all the pieces are in place and the game is really fun to play (well, at least I like to think so).

Coded in C++ with OpenGL.

Kind of reminds me of GTA and CS2D combined.

The main inpsirations were GTA2, Soldat and Diablo. Though CS2D, BF2 and Heroes of Newerth have had a large impact as well. Lots of good skill ideas in HoN
