Came across an article on GigaGamez called Top 8 Most Under Valued Next Gen Properties. Tomb Raider, Mario Party, Resident Evil, blah blah. But what's this at number 6??!

Quote
Aquaria

This excellent indy game, which won the Seamas Mcnally award at GDC, is a great example of where innovation comes from. The title offers seriously old-school gameplay that resembles Symphony of the Night and Metroid, but the fact that the protagonist is underwater gives the game an Ecco-like control scheme. It looks like the console jockeys are fighting over which download service will win the title, while Nintendo might even see the game make it to the DS. Either way, it’ll mark one of th first major publisher deals for the winners of the highest honors in indy game development. This is the equivalent of a bidding war for the top film at Sundance. And it’s about time that something like this happened. Previous indy console titles have won major awards, but they’ve typically been signed on for distribution and publishing prior to winning. Aquaria’s two creators are about to find out just how much bargaining each of the console game services is able to do. This game will pave the way for indy dev in next-gen consoles.

I think someone has some explaining to do...  Wink

Haha, yeah, the person who wrote that article.

Truth is that we're exploring all our publishing / distribution options right now like anyone else would...  but if there's any kind of "bidding war" going on at this point, then it's news to me. Tongue

Btw, that isn't to say that I don't think Aquaria is an "undervalued next-gen property." Wink

Ah. Yes. I *may* have set myself up as you and Alec's agent without telling you. But good news! Burger King will pay us $100,000 if you rebrand the game so that it features The King instead of a mer-bint! Smiley

Uh-oh, better check your smallprint!

The promise of a penny does not legally denote an actual guarantee that you will receive a penny, merely that you will receive a penny-like object such as a washer or some gum that's been trodden into a vaguely circular form.

N-Gage? Pff. My contacts on the South Pole told me your best choice nowadays would be the CD-i.

Also, what do people do in indie hell? Get poked by publishers with sticks?

they spend all their time formulating and constructing elaborate ladders to escape the pit, but when they reach the top, someone kicks them in the face and steals their ladder.

And the publishers with sticks force you to play them nonstop, right?
Come on, there MUST be publishers with sticks!

Maybe the bidding war comes later.

You know, after a bunch of threats and nasty business with extortions.
