I wanna say this thing from Castlevania. Symphony of the Night, specifically. It's weird and massive and grotesque, and the bodies fall off with each hit, screaming as they drop, to then get up and lurch after you as well, and the thing keeps getting closer, trapping you in a corner and there are bodies everywhere and oh god I don't want to touch it... I think this thing scarred me, but in doing so has stuck with me in my memory. Kudos to you, ball of corpses!

AAAAHHHH SO SCARY [Dead Space]
Dead Space isn't scary. It's one of the least frightening games I've ever played. Minecraft caves are scarier.

Dude! Is that from the Ravenloft boardgame?
I saw that on RPS and it looked pretty great. Reminds me of Hero Quest, which I used to own as a lad.

Dang. Workin' takes up so much of my time. Man, I love Silent Hill 2!
Do you have a link to the Let's Play?
http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Silent%20Hill%202/Enjoy! Hell YEAH! I always thought the enormous corpse-puppet-with-flies-and-chains boss was fuckin' awesome. Someone should right a metal tribute song to SotN bosses. I still haven't gotten to the mirror castle. One day... TOOMSI Always liked this guy for some reason Is that the guy who could stretch his limbs and made nests out of bile? Those episodes were freaky. Damn, I love the X-Files I saw that on RPS and it looked pretty great. Reminds me of Hero Quest, which I used to own as a lad.
Hero Quest was great. My friends and I used to make up all kinds of games with those dice and figures. And the cardboard and plastic furniture! Shit, I totally forgot about that game!

Yeah it is. I did an unboxing which gives a better look at what you get than the RPS article does. I'll be doing a second part of this when I find the space to set up.

Weeping Angels from Doctor Who. Admittedly VERY low budget, but VERY VERY scary. From the episode called "Blink". Low budget? It'd must've cost a small fortune to sculpt all those differently-posed statues (and additional ones when they moved). I agree, though, one of scariest creatures I could've imagined. Actually all the statues were actresses. Trufax.

It looks better painted: The Ravenloft board game is a lot of fun, and it's very well-designed. If it seems like it would appeal to you, I'd definitely give it a go. On the topic of Dungeons and Dragons, I nominate Mind Flayers as one of the scariest monsters ever. They can paralyze you with their mind, and then eat your brain while you're still alive. And there are whole cities full of them!

Loved all those multi-media references, from Dr. Who to a Pennis on wheels. This one is a sprite made by a friend of mine; it can seems a bit out of place with all those high definition monsters, but I really like[and fear] the simplicity in it.

Just bought that recently, it's one of the best dungeon crawler board games I've ever played. Highly recommended for fans of Heroquest, Warhammer Quest, Descent etc.
