I am releasing a videogame on the xbox live service next week, and I need quality cover art to promote the game.

The games are shown by box art. This means that thousands of people will see the cover that you make.

We have been working on it for about 4-5 months, and we're hoping for high quality box art.

Here is a gameplay trailer for the game.

(We are in the process of making a real trailer).

We are renaming the game to "Defy Gravity"

For the cover I was hoping for something like an attractive woman putting on the suit(maybe with some cleavage or something) that you are wearing in the game with the gravity gun sitting nearby, and maybe a black hole in the background and possibly some elements like platforms or enemies from the game or other things that indicate the game is a platformer.

You can see the suit that is being worn in the game by viewing the trailer.

It could be anime style, but it really doesn't have to be, it is your call.

You can put a your signature on the bottom of the box in whatever style you want. Or like a box art by "name" kind of thing.

I really can't pay that much, unless the game blows up and then i will give you like 300-400 dollars. Otherwise more like 40 dollars.

You don't have to go with my idea for a cover, it is just an idea.

Remember to include the game title "Defy Gravity".

I can't guarantee that I will use your box art, but if I do literally thousands of people will see your artwork with your name on it, and it could help your portfolio, plus there is money. And it is a higher quality title so it does stand a good chance of being a top download(fingers crossed), which would make many more people see it. Also I am going to enter it in competitions and convert it into a pc title, so that will be more exposure for your art.

Box requirements:

JPEG format, 584px x 700px and less than 390 KB
You can just send me a psd if you want though, preferably in the correct dimensions. Your call.

I really need your box art submissions by next Tuesday(9/28/10)
You can send them to [email protected]

see this link for inspiration. This includes the box art used in many other games:

A larger pic of the player:

I was thinking of a girl like this kind of style, but it does not have to be anime:

kind of with her suit half on, like this(but not the face and not quite so like.....cleavaged out.  I do want it to be seductive but not like i feel like i'm looking at a pseudo pornagraphic image.  Like modest cleavage or possibly even a behind shot with a seductive swagger, not like a foot of cleavage on DDs)

Also with some like platforming elements in the background, or like a black hole/gravity well.  The black hole can look more realistic than in the trailer if you'd like.

You don't have to go with what I'm suggesting though.  You could go in a different direction.  If you feel like you would make better box art by going with a different idea, then that is good too. Wanted: [PAID] Box art for a game that is nearly finished. Trying to put into review next week.

Hi,
Is this a job or speculative work? It appears you're trying to get people to send you the work you want done already completed, and then choose between them, which would be speculative work and I really recommend against doing things this way.
You're not liable to get a decent artist this way since everyone but amateur artists skip over the offers, and you're less likely to get your cover in time since artists have no obligation to do so.

real art looks like the mona lisa or a halo poster and is about being old or having your wife die and sometimes the level goes in reverse

when i first saw the name, i thought 'this must be a guy making fun of the phil fish / paul eres thing like phubans' but no, you're actually a real developer by that name, haha.

anyway, game looks interesting, sorry i can't help with the box art, but good luck with it, maybe i'll buy it when it's on xbox.

Gameplay seems interesting, but I'm somewhat irritated by the soundeffects. Are those Super Metroid sfx? Good luck with the cover art though.
