The game should be multi player. Think cows, birds, pigs, and snakes. Think cooking them. Think something that harvests animals for meat. Think restaurant sim meets rts meets 2 player tetris. Collect food, cook it, serve it. Randomly generated asshole customers, or joyous, ignorant connoisseurs.

Pastel colors and smooth lines. Lots of cool patterns. Simplistic, doodle style art. Think Mr. Driller.

You can pick up and move certain blocks, and make them 'grow' (Nice idea, Hangedman). You can switch the colors and patterns of blocks to make them do different things, maybe by placing them on a certain area in the level or something?

they bleed in waves of violet, and realize as they fight brother and sister for that gold and glorious throne that its cushions are not dyed red but stained with the blood of their father. As they bite and scratch and kick and scream to rule they see nothing but the suffering of those they wish to rule, and intend to do nothing about it once they sit comfortably atop them all. They see it and are not dissuaded.

This is not backstabbing, it is looking your blood in the eye as you plunge the blade into their gut.

Or maybe it's clouds.

Make a game about secretly cutting down giant metal trees during the dead of night, chopping them into blocks, and bringing them back to your cave in the badlands by the sea to fuel your miniature scaled version of the Titanic, all in the hopes that one day, if you work hard enough and believe hard enough, you might steam across the acid seas and see your family in the smog again.

Also plausible: a game about an ugly kittenduck which may or may not grow into a beautiful catswan

WELCOME TO DAY ONE OF NINE
Here's the plan...
You begin on a small platform in a void.
Grow more platforms maybe using seeds (not plant seeds though).
Terrain is destructible.
The entire game comes out of your pocket full of seeds -- nothing comes from the top of the screen, the bottom, or the sides. Everything is placed by you, and destroyed by you. Anything that falls off of the edge is lost forever. Even you.

DEV MOTTO FROM HERE ON IN: The player chooses where everything goes. Bad things, good things, neutral things. There may be random elements involved but the player creates everything.
No player input = no level = no game at all.


Goal: Win. Or don't.

Quack.

At the beginning of the game each type of seed is assigned a colour. You have to figure out what each colour does as you go, and use them in helpful situations. You get randomly given different seeds one (or more) at a time, and have to figure out how to use them for the most help, or the least harm.

Would require some memory, some thinking and a bit of luck. Having more than one seed at a time could reduce the luck factor. Having different seeds react with different surfaces could make things more interesting. (A seed that normally makes a plant monster could make a helpful vine when placed on a grass tile.)



Unfortunately theres not much way to add ducks to this. Although a duck seed could work.
(Duck becomes bouncy rubber ducky in water?)
