Is that guy the final boss in your game? If Prichard D. Jams were the final boss of a game, that would be a game I could never bring myself to beat.

Pretty much finished this game today ...but there's still a couple more days of work left. I just need to: - Drop in the credits - Tweak a few of the weapons - Tweak a boss or two - Make sure everything is working with the gamepad - Make a readme/PDF manual - Test, test, test... We were also throwing around the idea of making a cheesy 80's-style commercial for this game, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the release... It's just for fun. My musician is also thinking of doing live performances of the soundtrack (which is incredible, by the way)... And I'm really hoping to see some sweet fanart for this game, if it's not asking too much <3 The game will be finished soon and released on this Friday. Thanks for following this thread and showing support for this project!

Trying so hard to wrap this up for tomorrow's release... I am absolutely exhausted and my eyes hurt like they have never hurt before Anyways, I decided to include an NES-style instructional manual in PDF format to be included with the game and that's what I spent the day working on. I ran into the matter of wanting hand-painted art for it so I asked JWK5 and Dan Fessler if they could help out. John is currently working on some stuff and here's what Dan came up with: Stevie is currently mixing all of the BGM and SFX to the proper levels and I'm just cleaning up the last few minor bugs. My biggest two things to fix before release: proper implementation of a Force Field secondary weapon and extending the credits sequence so that it doesn't end before the music. Believe me, the past two weeks I have been busting my ass unlike I have ever busted it before. I'm really trying to hit this deadline and it doesn't help that I have cactus coming over tomorrow and my place isn't even cleaned up I don't want to ask for another day or two to release it, even though that would help tremendously at this point... Mainly because I have this thing with numbers where the 25th feels like a "good" number and I don't want to release it on the 26th or 27th. The next date I would push the release to would be March 1st, but then it would be 100% release candidate, super-polished, and bug free... oR, i CAN put Myself through the RINGERRRR and release it tomorrow, 99% perfect but there might be a stray bug or two or something that isn't up to par with what I want... What do you Think?? What do you wanT FROM ME??!!

Change the date to "when it's done." Sometimes it seems like EVERYONE crunches right up until GDC.

Yeah, I've decided for the sake of my physical and mental well-being as well as the quality of the game, it would be best to push the release to 3/1/11. Today, the 25th, can still be the beta release, and the jam on Saturday can still be a beta release party where everyone gets to play (maybe we can have a play-thru race to see who gets thru first, and the winner can get a kiss from cactus or something?) We'll see! At any rate, if this doesn't go out today/tomorrow, it won't be later than March 1st... I promise that much. It's almost done; I just need another day or two, and if Dan is going to do the manual art, March 1st would be an appropriate deadline.

Usually STRd6 posts threads for those. Missing in action this time...? But I can't make that jam anyway, I need to prepare for FGS on Sunday (as well as all the stuff in the coming week,) and going down to MtnVue the day before will destroy me.

The jam/beta release party will feature special guests from Scandinavia, including TWO of the characters starring in The Indie Game Legend TM; cactus and Petri. The jam is at The Hacker Dojo: Hacker Dojo, 140 South Whisman Road Mountain View, CA We're going to group up at the SF Caltrain station at 2 PM, and then catch the 2:15 Southbound and getting off at the Mountain View station. I'm not too sure how to get to the Dojo from there, but rides will be available. Post in this thread or send me a message if you need more information. Cheerz

A NEW WORLD ORDER UNDER ONE MAN(click for giant version) ---- And yet another MADHOUSE SE tournament zombifies its players (by progrium) ---- Not pictured: Phubans joins Twitter. Also, the surprise ending of The Indie Game Legend. That is something which should definitely not be spoiled.
