Holy shit... I can't believe this was made with Game Maker, let alone made in 4 months. This is possibly the best indie game, nay, best multimedia experience I have ever had the pleasure of partaking in. 11/10 stars, would play again, and again, and again. After playing this, I pretty much deleted every game on my harddrive and threw out most of my "other" games.
This is the creme de la creme of indie games LIFE.

I went into this game expecting very little and was shocked to find that my expectations were shattered almost as profoundly as my psyche. The constant barrage of shifting perceptions and the gripping, emotional storyline made me question my perspective on life and wonder about the true nature of the reality we exist within. After suffering through years of manic depression and surviving two bouts of breast cancer I find that this experience is as challenging as any I have ever been presented with before.
Also, I think the last level could use a longer boss fight.

I'm an elementary school teacher and have a Japanese indie legends are used to teach English to my students. Verbs, nouns, participles, we face a consistent width of the split infinitive, a pure delight.
That it is not the story and innovative Osonsukottokado is Shadoukonpurekkusu of is video game story is loaded with some very complex effects, woven story, the emotional body, the archetype unpredictable.
The study was used as a boss character to explore the text of Goethe.

i managed to get past it
but i died at the boss, then the game kinda went weird and i had to close it. now i cant replay the final boss because his dialogue wont go away and he'll just kill me. welp
Go back a couple rooms to the bottom-most save point, and save there. Then exit & restart the game. That should fix it. Also, this game: Excellent thanks andrew, that fixed it! i beat the game; nice ending right there, phubans, hah

Hey phubans,
Thanks for showing me this game yesterday at the GDC meetup. I had a blast, and I am happy to see other Guardian Legend fans... I thought I was the only one. I've downloaded it so I will be sure to finish it once I get a break.

finished the game; and like ortoslon i also got the bug where the final battle music had 2 music tracks playing at once (if that's even a bug and not a feature?) and like ortoslon i also think there should be a way to skip cutscenes so that you don't have to go through them all for your 4th or 5th attempt at a boss
i also think it'd be a good addition to make the mouse wheel 'cycle' between weapons without having to go to the subscreen
score felt kind of superfluous, in guardian legend if you get enough points you get a higher health meter, but here score didn't do anything, it didn't even show your score at the end, so it feels kind of extra rather than integrated into the game
also overall the game felt too easy but that's a level of player skill thing

It was my attempt at polytonality inspired by Charles Ives. Like it? No, wait, that is a bug that should be fixed. If in the meantime you want to hear each tune on its own, not all on top of each other, hop over to my Bandcamp page where I've just put The Soundtrack To The Indie Game Legend. ...Also Rich's post made my head do a HTTP error 500

That original Desert BGM has some serious meat on the bass! (Your music is basically 95% of the reason I like this game.)
