I'm remaking/porting my game SkiAssault to Flash with the Flixel framework. At the moment I'm trying to "catch up" with the Construct version- after I've done this, there are lots of things I'd like to add.

This is a very silly game.
Also, you can ski off the side of the screen, which seems incorrect.
Once you set the difficulty to ramp up over time (more trees/monsters/etc), I can see this being really cool.

It's difficult to determine the player's height during a jump (maybe, could you add a shadow?). However, the game is so nice, and it's fun so far (surely you've to add difficulties, as the previous comment said)!

New version - v0.11!What's added: - A placeholder shadow (for judging jump height)
- Wall collisions (skiing off screen no longer possible)
- Rudimentary player targeting (the yetis will run in your general direction)
- Difficulty progression (though no game-over state yet)

The ability to shoot down trees makes the game too easy. You don't even need to move if you click fast enough.
Perhaps make it take 2-3 shots to take down a tree. Would prevent me from just staying in one spot and mowing down every thing that crosses my path.

As someone who remembers the Win 3.11 original - I approve of anything that lets you gun down the SkiFree Yeti!
I think this could be going places, especially since the original game is some kind of internet-fad already. Right now the shooting feels a bit "floaty" as in it lacks impact and the feeling of force.
But then again I dunno what you are going for, e.g. the original game which was also somewhat floaty...

I also remember this, can't wait to see it evolve. The shooting is fun too, but does that mean you can't ever shoot down a tree?

new version - v0.14Changes: - SKI FU: smack into yetis to take them out.
- Some optimizations - should hopefully be smoother now.
- Updated effect system - images can be "triggered" at certain points
- Can't jump continuously anymore.
