Hey artsy-folk,

Just found this on Notch's blog:

Basically, make a standard-size texture pack and have a chance at winning some sick computer hardware and a fancy painting. It's just 16x16 pixel stuff and there might not be THAT many entrants as you have to make a whole pack.

Due date is on December 20th. I think I might try my hand, as my pixel skills need desperate help.

I think that's the idea.

Because texture packs are soon to be properly integrated AND their new pixelman will likely make his take on the minecraft world for the update.

I thought with Junkboy on board they'd be looking at new textures that would be bigger than 16 x 16?

They likely will be.
But the standard low-res feel is preserved with 16x16.
