I'm Anthony Burch, co-creator of a web series called Hey Ash Whatcha Playin'.

consisted of a LucasArts-esque machinima depicting a hypothetical HAWP adventure game.

I'm looking for a programmer who can help me (design) and a friend (art) actually make a game out of that episode. The puzzle/design doc is already more or less done, and about a third of the eventual art assets were already made for the game.

I mainly need someone who can actually turn all of this stuff into a functional game through AGS or MMF or whathaveyou.

This position would be paid -- I don't have a tremendous amount of money to spend, but the programmer would be entitled to a percentage of the profits from an eventual, physical "special edition" of the game to be sold from the HAWP website. That, and -- not to sound disgustingly pretentious -- there may be some value in attaching your name to a show that averages around 150,000 viewers per episode.

I've never actually requested contractors on TIGSource, so please lemme know if there's some terribly important information I'm forgetting to convey.

Oh, ha!

I was actually just forcing a friend to listen to your talk at Berkley on, I believe characterization. I think? It was the one, where you went on at length about Keifer Southerlan's annoying fictional daughter and Alex Vance. Pretty sure.

I would actually be very interested in this project, although I'd only be able to offer my work as a Java or a Flash application. See, I don't know any of this Multimedia or Gamemaker nonsense. I just hate the idea of limiting your audience by choosing tech that only reaches one platform. (though admittedly, the MMF wiki seems to claim it's interoperable)

If you want an example of something I'm working on, probably best to look at Son, Stranger. It's super early in the project but it might be up your alley. www.tsameti.com/tr_game.html

Best of luck finding a code monkey,
