The rest of players will be MAKERS. Their goal is to make the best game. They are not allowed to post a playable version of their game, or a video, anywhere, until the end of the competition. I upped the size in the first post but it was always there (: edit :: OH MY GOD I AM LEVEL 7 WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN

Oh Ashkin, you make it sound like code/videos would be hard to fake. They would not. Even a 'me doing actual work over ustream' would still be a simple magic trick. Don't underestimate the tools of a con.

I'd write a devlog about my current game, but I'm too busy making it.

Where would we be posting updates? In this thread? Or create per-game threads somewhere? I'd prefer to be part of a team as well, and I can help with art-type things. Anyone want to partner up with me?
Pick me, pick me!

Draknek, that's a good question which I have considered and not yet answered! I think people should go ahead and create their own devlogs elsewhere -- we aren't official so we can't get our own little subforum >: i guess it's too tiny for that, anyway.
I'm going to be away most of Saturday (20th) so it'll probably start on the Friday (19th) or very early 20th.
edit :: if you make a devlog, tell me and I'll link it in the OP so every player can access it.

Mayhaps I'd like to enter this as a Maker. Not too clear how this system works but, if I need to pair up with someone, I'm open for anyone really. Seems very intriguing.

Maybe I could be in perhaps, if you end up having any spaces!
Just out of curiostiy, how will you be deciding who's a ghost and who's a maker? Will it be randomized or what?

It will be random. You can make a request to be Ghost or Maker (via PM ONLY please) but I will take these requests somewhat lightly so as to make it difficult to guess based on entrants, I think.

Okay. Competition will 'start' on the 21st. At that point, GHOSTS and MAKERS will be assigned to their posts. Up until the 24th, there will be PUBLIC THEME VOTING by all Players. GHOSTS may desire to push for the voting of an easier-to-fake compo theme...? This means you will only have three theme voting days plus four days of dev to decide on your vote for the first week. Then, the compo will run until the end of the fifth week (day after christmas). Upon the fifth vote to kick someone from the competition, the game will end. The compo will end. Survivors will post their games or expose themselves as GHOSTS (and claim their delicious, delicious points). IF YOU WANT TO GET IN FOR SURE, TEAM UP WITH SOMEONE. TEAMS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ACCEPTED

I'd be down for pairing up. I am a much better programmer than artist, though.

I'd be up for teaming up with someone. Not much of a programmer, but getting better at pixelling and such.
