Hullo all -
long time reader, first time poster First off, I may have only a little experience (having only just finished studying), but I think I can already offer quite a lot that others can't...
You can see what I have so far here:
http://www.mattfarthing.moonfruit.com/CompositionI completed 4 years of performance/composition undergraduate at the Royal Northern College of Music, got a first and a load of commissions for contemporary classical pieces ranging from full orchestral scoring to an electroacoustic solo violin suite with live electronics. Meanwhile, I have also been sessioning, writing and producing for several bands in the UK - most notably this one
http://www.myspace.com/runtotomusic as well as remixing and producing some pretty heavy electronic music from electro-house through to dubstep and experimental
http://soundcloud.com/kidfarthing,
http://www.myspace.com/christianaids and playing in a Klezmer/Gypsy band
http://www.myspace.com/yitzakbandThe point being, I can write in any style you want, I relish the challenge of it! On top of this, if we're talking classical-style arrangements, I don't just restrict myself to crappy sounding midi strings - I have a web of contacts from the freelancing work I do that means I can put a scratch orchestra together very quickly and (from working as a sound engineer at the Royal Northern after finishing my undergraduate degree) can easily and cheaply record this musicians with top notch studio equipment and techniques.
Sound DesignAfter RNCM I completed a diploma in Sound Engineering and Production from Futureworks media school and received a first. This is where I discovered sound design and how it can really lift an already good animation/film/game into something utterly awesome. I'm really looking to build up a portfolio here, but here are a few game trailers where I have scrapped the audio and completely started from scratch
(nominated for best submission in the history of futureworks) and

Throw some work my way and I guarantee I'll exceed your expectations.
Cheers for reading this, Matt
