Oxeye will stay at the Downtown Hostel. Anyone else staying there?

Me and a couple buddies are right around the corner in the Union Square Plaza Hotel. It's like 2 minutes walking Smiley

Sweet! I'm sensing late-night indie parties and jams.

INDIE SENSE... TINGLING!

Me (Evan Balster), Beau Blyth (teknopants), Ted Martens (savethedinosaurs) and Ken Kopecky are rooming together at HI downtown.

So, regarding a get-together.  Would anyone be game for swarming a restaurant or something after the first day of the conference?  Last year there was an artist meetup at a Denny's in the evening, which went very well.  Another possible place is the shopping mall near the Moscone center; it's got a food court downstairs with plenty of tables.  Neither of those places have power, though, and I'm not sure about internet.  But then, this is a social occasion, right?

I'm arriving on the evening of the 26th and leaving late on March 6th.  I look forward to meeting folks again!  Hopefully this time participating more and being less creepy-stalker-of-indie-folks Smiley

We also have to do some bigass party at one night, since we don't have Gamma this year.

Since I got some great news regarding Toys today I'm going to have to find some form of accommodation now Smiley. Does anyone know if that hostel you're talking about is fully booked yet, otherwise it sounds like the place to be!

I likely won't be able to attend the conference but I'll definitely try to make it down there and hang out or something, so let me know if anything rad is going down outside the conference.

I'm arriving on Friday the 24th and will be doing that Indie Giving Event on Saturday that someone mentioned a bunch of posts up. So I can't make any game jams Saturday as I'll be working with a bunch of indie devs and Habitat for Humanity to help build a house. :D

I'll be attending the Flash Gaming Summit on Sunday...

Definitely looking forward to fun meetups though as it was such a good time last year!

This year I finally have a laptop I can develop on which I didn't have last year.  I want to try and make it to the art jam as that sounded awesome and there was also a cool game jam that I didn't have a chance to get to.

There will likely be another Ludum Dare meetup as well this year that was fun to attend last time.

There were a lot of fun after parties (Kongregate's in particular was some pretty good time spent hanging out in the 3rd floor stairwell with a bunch of various devs...

Can't wait to run into the devs I met last year and meet a whole slew of new ones!  Getting psyched for FGS/GDC!  Beer!

Yay HybridMind! Was great meeting you last year at Kongregate's party.

I'm hoping the Art Jam happens again this year as well I'm hoping for a Klik-of-the-Month GDC Edition again (hotel lobby Wifi for the win).

I'll be in the hostel too... assuming there is still space by the time I come to booking.

Should be tomorrow.

I'll be at the HI Downtown if I can scrap the cash this week and there's space available.

I was there 2 years ago. It's in the perfect place, walking distance to everything.

Sup Arizona buddy? Are you in the Phoenix area?

Yep, northern Scottsdale area. Everyone says that I ought to move to SoCal or Seattle for game work, but I just can't give up the AZ weather.

I'd leave to give up the smog!  :-) oh, and the 115 F summers. Hello fellow Arizonan. Actually, Flagstaff is my favorite city, second to Seattle. (different reasons, obviously)

see you at the GDC,

Mancuddle pending.

So seriously guys.  We keep talking like some magnificent spaceman is going to waltz in and set a date for us.  I say either after the first or last day of the conference, at the best location we can think of.  My best idea right now is the Denny's where the art jam was last year, but it's not laptop-friendly.
